Both me and my opponent (lv 25) open Swindler/Mint using the extra coin from Baker, and then swindle each other like crazy in a pretty degenerate and luck-based game. (It looked bad for me since my opponent swindled my first 2 bakers into mints, but I got to swindle his duchies later which made up for it).

Scrying pool was on the board, which is obviously resistant to swindling, and I thought about a baker/sp engine, but lack of villages coupled with the fact that my good cards were getting swindled right and left meant I just mirrored the nonsense. Could an engine/any non-degenerate strategy have worked here?

the thing about scrying pool is that it's just so good. it also combos well with swindler. i'd open spice merchant/potion and cross my fingers.
