Code: [Select]
Hamlet, Pearl Diver, Chancellor, Develop, Woodcutter, Throne Room, Contraband, Festival, Mine, Saboteur

It's games like these that start to add validity to something approaching what I said in the OP.

Keep in mind:
  • I have 5500 rating
  • He has 5000 rating
  • He wasn't sure if he wanted to start the game when I joined but then did anyways.
  • He went first, and bought a Develop while I sat there trying to figure out why.
  • He then proceeds to buy another Develop, while I opened Silver/Silver and bought almost all coins.
TBH I didn't see much there to do anything engine-worthy.

Just my thoughts.

How does that support the OP? Also 500 goko points is very little.

Once he buys a Develop, big money is toast, it makes precious little sense to try to mirror afterward

Point taken; I didn't mention it specifically. If we are looking through the lens of the OP, this was a case of reverse psychology. It's hard to find a game where a higher-ranked opponent doesn't conjure up some kind of deck-drawing tactic, even if the Kingdom seems to be lacking the right "materials." He was expecting me to put together something of an engine, and in most cases he would be correct. This was just one of those cases where there was nothing there (I believe).

Regardless, if you can tell me of a viable engine to be made here, branching from two Develops, go for it.

Leads into the TR-TR-Chancellor-Chancellor golden deck, obviously.
