Credit to drheld for finding this bug.  There aren't any curses left to be gained on the possession turn.

Well, better than it used to be... you used to crash the game if you bought an embargoed card on a possession turn :P.

Was the curse actually gained, though, or just stated that it was?

...spin-offs are still better for all of the previously cited reasons.
But not strictly better, because the spinoff can have a different cost than the expansion.

I think it just said so, but didn't actually change the state (no trashes, total of 10 curses in peoples decks at end of game).
