He disappeared once before.  He's basically Voltgloss.

On the topic of people disappearing, I was recently updating a Through the Ages Play By Forum document, and it had Galzria on there. "Huh", I thought to myself. "Galzria hasn't been here on F.DS in a while. Wonder when he stopped coming here." So I looked up his profile. Active: Earlier today. Whoops, guess he wasn't so disappeared after all ::).

But not strictly better, because the spinoff can have a different cost than the expansion.

Had a surreal moment on Facebook. I was reminded of a friendship I had with someone with the On This Day feature. This girl was someone I dated very briefly in college. We really had nothing in common, so we drifted apart. Four years ago, she sent me a friend request. The intervening years didn't do anything to give us anything in common, so it was a distant friendship. She mostly played Farmville, and I sometimes read status updates related to that.

So I received this memory to look back on, and I realize I hadn't heard from her in a while. I wondered if she still even did Facebook, so I looked on her wall to see if anything was posted recently. I got past a few birthday posts on her wall but noticed that they were rather somber. It turns out she died of a blood clot in her lung 2 years ago.

I feel kind of bad because we interacted very little. We only reconnected due to a memory of a college romp. So that was a sobering moment for me yesterday.

First time TAing, I have to correct 720 copies in 5 days yaaaaaaay...

That's... 144 per day?  Unless each one is a 4-page essay, you should be fine.

I'm correcting with an online program. Grading is easy, but putting in any sort of correction is really time consuming. Considering that this is not even my priority number one, I don't know how this is going to go down (hopefully not with a student gunning me down).

Done... 2h to correct the first 20, 4h to correct the next 80, 10h to grade the final 650. I don't think I am ever going to complain again when I get deducted points in a question without any explanation when I am in a large promotion.

Not like I am going to find myself in that situation again, but still...

How much of a keyboard user am I? Well, if I realize a typo I made half a sentence later, I will delete several words to get back to that word and retype everything afterward to save myself clicking the mouse twice.

A true keyboard user would use ctrl-left arrow then ctrl-shift-left arrow to fix the typo.

Yes, but then I have to reach all the way over to the End button to get back to where I was. So far.

I was being facetious when I typed that, but I realize that it's true. I'm either in write mode or edit mode. If I switch to edit mode, it takes longer than just repositioning my fingers back on the home row. I have to reboot my creative juices. Press Ctrl + Delete does not interrupt the flow. It is part of my writing process. Maybe I'm just weird that way.

Sometimes it's really stupid how sometimes, you feel like the answer to a question is online somewhere, but you just can't find it by googling.  In this game I've been making, I've wanted to find the answer to questions like "How much ppm of dust in the air is when it's bad for you?" or "If you fall unconscious, does it rest yourself like sleep?" but I can never find them, and just have to make a wild guess.

The game is based on the concept of doing different things until you go unconscious, and see who lasts the longest.  Which is why sudgy needs all the details for falling unconscious and dust in the air.  He is trying to make sure his game passes health codes

Man. I had four strips of bacon yesterday. Was one automatically undercooked, one automatically overcooked? No, let's put a stop to that right here, all four strips were excellent.

Being unconscious doesn't rest you like being asleep. Now, possibly you can fall asleep while unconscious.

I happened to catch the final play of the World Series. I feel like I've participated enough. Time to get one of those blue-and-white doughnuts that people will undoubtedly bring into work today.

Still sad that Back to the Future failed us. I feel like there should be a meme where Doc and Marty are seeing the display of the Royals winning and fretting about what changed in the past.

There were an estimated 800k people showing up for the parade for the World Series victory. I can't even imagine most of them seeing anything parade-related.

My workplace was right across the street from ground zero. Fortunately, they closed the building down today, so I got to stay home. I was dreading going into work otherwise.

Don't be ridiculous, that guy doesn't work inside our cells.  The joke is that he lives in our cells, but all he ever does is dance; but with some clever editing, it looks like he's actually accomplishing something important.
