I've only played Seasons. Not touching the other five just yet.

Seasons was pretty neat. It has a spooky Lynchian feel to it, and there is a sense of dread looming over you. You're not escaping a prison here. You're navigating your memories, I suppose. And it has a neat little mechanic for that.

Oh, doing them in order is helpful. I was asked for a code I got in chapter 1 in the chapter 2 game I'm playing. The Lake is not quite as fun. I'm not sure what I'm missing.

Am I the only one that renames .exe files into another file type to stop gmail from stopping me from attaching them?

Usually I can get by with zipping them, though I haven't tried that lately, so I wouldn't know if Gmail searches zip files for .exe.

But I've renamed them before too.

It does or used to, however you can just rename the .zip.

That's cute, but can't compare to the original. (I'll post the video once I'm on a real computer. Or you can search for "stalking cat".)

My cousin-in-law is having a rough time because she's going to put her dog to sleep today. Her hashtag has been #12yearsisnotenough. I haven't had a pet I loved until recently when my wife and I got a small mischief of rats. They're very personable and fun to play with, so it's going to really suck when they die in a year or two. I wish I could get that much time out of my rats. Score one for the dogs for longevity.

I had no idea rats only lived that long.  I'd sort of guessed they were up nearer rabbits rather than down with the mice and hamsters.

Yeah, that was a risk we took when we chose these animals. Chinchillas and Guinea pigs can live decently long lives, but we live in 720 sq ft, and these animals are happier in horizontal habitats. We chose rats because they thrive in a vertical habitat. And the 2'x3'x4' cage we got them is testament to their happiness.

It'd be awesome if they did live longer. They're really fun companions. I just hope that neither of us is too depressed to adopt new rats when these pass on.

Well, I usually trash them after a few reshuffles.

The problem that my friend who has pet rats fell into is the situation of having two rats, and then one of them dies, and you get another rat so your remaining rat has a companion (might sound silly to non-rat owners but they're social enough animals that that's a concern), and of course your new rat outlives your original rat, so you need to get a companion for that one, and you enter into the "rat cycle".

That's eerily similar to the Dominion card.

Yeah, I'm keeping in mind the social dynamics of the cage. We have three rats. As soon as one of them dies, I intend to get two baby rats. Then I'll likely get a third baby sometime after that, depending on when the other older rats die off.

The real problem is suppressing the urge to adopt new rats because you found a really sweet one at the pet store. Our litter trays are full enough with our three girls. If we get more, then that's even more litter to empty.

I thought rats bred like crazy, why do you need to keep buying them?

I don't think they breed all that much when they're all female.

Sudden Clarity Clarence time:  I just realized that people putting "TLDR version" at the top of a long post is exactly equivalent to "Abstract" and "Executive Summary."

You just have to make damn sure they're all female. Rats are hard to sex.
