I always wrinkle my nose when people refer to a single day or even a period of several days as an indication of global warming. I hear it from both ends, actually.
"Man, it's freezing out there. Clearly global warming is a hoax."
"Man, it's so hot. And people are dumb enough to deny global warming?"
I guess it just bugs me because I can understand that modeling the climate is a monumental undertaking with several variables in play. It's like examining the averages of averages to other averages of averages. So I understand that extreme cases can happen.
Not to pick on SFS or even accuse him of doing this. I think he was just joking, but I've seen people say these things in earnest on Facebook.
