Happy congrats to me! I broke 5000 on Goko for the first time, and my Iso is at an all time high at 23! :D

I would have upvoted this, but GendoIkari did the same joke a bit too recently.

I have pointed out that your post was a joke, though, so other people might upvote it. No need to thank me.

Well, I guess you could say that, but I'd still need to level up around 25 sextillion times to get that high.

Dude, I know 23 isn't high. I'm not that good, which is why I'm happy I got that (kinda) high. You're probably 50 or something.

The joke is that 23 ≠ the factorial of 23.

Actually, it might be a bit less than 2%. You get your 1% of the cost subtracted from the total, then you get 1% of that taken away. It might not be that way, but knowing companies, it very well could be.

It's marketed as 1% and 1% because you get 1% back when you buy stuff and 1% back when you pay for that stuff.  If you don't pay off your bill in full then you don't get that second 1%.

That being said, if you aren't paying off your bill in full I don't know why you'd ever want a cashback rewards card instead of a card with lower APR.  (Frankly I think if you aren't paying off your bill in full, credit cards are extremely dangerous, but that's another discussion.)

In a sense, I almost hope that the question of whether Game of Thrones is based on a true story is not satirical.

But I don't know that my face can withstand that much palm.

It's inspired by the War of the Roses.

But I guess that's not what you meant.

In a way, GoT/ASoIaF IS based on a true story. In that GRRM sees Les Rois Maudits (The Accursed Kings) as a big source of inspiration, and those are based on historical events and characters.

The Wars of the Roses as well, with the whole York/Lancaster = Stark/Lannister.

I suspect the snow zombies part might not be based on a true story though.

Hey, that series (The Accursed Kings) has, as its name would seem to indicate, a series of kings who all die very young because of a curse thrown upon them by the Knight Templars, so it wouldn't even be that much of a stretch.

OK, maybe it would.

So on IMDB I see the new Ghostbuster's:

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1289401/?ref_=hm_nw_tp1_lk2

and Melissa McCarthy is one of the main characters.  I find her really, really, really not funny.  Like at all.  Kristin Wiig strikes me as not too funny, either.

I'm a bit disappointed, because I remember at one point I saw Jesse Eisenberg and Michael Cera being tossed around for the new Ghostbusters movie, and I think they would have been great.

Coincidentally enough, I caught Ghostbusters on TV last night just flipping through, and almost at the beginning.  I haven't seen it in a long time; it was even better than I remembered.  Also, now that I'm in the Manhattan area I actually recognized the buildings and scenes and stuff.

Bill Murray's comedic delivery is just perfect, and there are a lot of things I didn't notice when I was younger, like the looks he would give the other two when they would say things. (Ray: "Listen!  Do you smell something?" and Peter deadpan looks at him and starts pointedly sniffing.)  Also, there were a number of little things I didn't pick up on as a kid, mostly sexually. Like when he goes to Dana's apartment and opens a door and she says, "That's the bedroom, but nothing ever happened in there," to which he replies, "What a crime."
