Nazi Jokes? That seems to be taking it a bit too far, anne frankly it's kind of unsettling.
Especially when on the whole, a caustic approach seems to be the norm.

Nazi jokes are a hit! Leroy loves them too.

Im definately in the Pro-Labyrinth camp.

Although I do have a fondness for Nazi's as well, but mainly when they are in Space!

I am too terrified to progress to Iron Skies 2. The first one was enough to traumatize me.

Huh, I just learned of the CCYYMMDD date format. What a difficult concept. Sure, people could get used to today being 21150323, but what happens at year 00? Even though 2000 was still the 20th century, did people mistakenly say it was the 21st century?

I don't know how far-reaching CCYYMMDD got, but I'm glad it's officially dead.

Wait, didn't someone on this very board already use that one?

Separately:  English needs a word for excellent execution of a terrible idea.  Does German, everyone's favorite essentially-agglomerative-even-though-it-isn't language, happen to have a word for it?  Or anyone else here who speaks multiple languages?

So my casual ranking right now is kinda... special

I got that after I pulled off a pretty spectacular forced win out of nowhere. Coincidence? (answer: yes)

Man, it's been a while since I played Small World. And since I got the Spider's Web expansion, we got to break in a little bit of that.

Marauding Gypsies did me a lot of good. I'd conquer a bunch of empty-ish regions and then conquer again. Then next turn, abandon with reckless….er, abandon and conquer again. It helped that one player took Cursed Priestess and only took up two spaces so that I pretty much had half the map to myself while the Trolls and Ice Queens duked it out on the other half.

It feels good to dust off a board game and come back to it. I forgot so much about it.

She wore my hat again. Confound it, woman, you're raising my hopes.

I feel like it's time for an update on this.  Did she continue to take the hat?  Did she take other articles of clothing?  Does she now dress like a man?  Did she steal your identity?  Did you give her the clamps?

Ha, no, nothing came out of this. She's 20 years younger than me, so she should hang out with guys her age. If she threw herself on me, I certainly would have obliged her, but she didn't, and I don't want to be one of those guys that misread a woman's attention as anything more. Many women I know get upset at how they act friendly toward a guy only to have it backfire because now the guy thinks she likes him. And I can't blame them.

If this girl meant for anything to happen between us, then it's my loss for not interpreting her signals correctly, but I'd rather risk that than lose her as a friend because I make things weird. My dating scene tends to be more direct, exactly because I want to avoid awkward situations. Still, it was nice to have that attention.

Sorry for the boring outcome. I tend not to be high drama.

Although there is the story of my cousin-in-law who allowed her girlfriend to live in her house until she learned that her ex fell madly in love with a male inmate at the prison where she works and looks forward to when he's released so she can move in with him and his two kids because the courts will totally rule against the mom in favor of a two-time incarcerated burglar who claims that burglary is a victimless crime. Makes me actually pretty happy about my boring outcome.

The video is about sunglasses that enable colour-blind people to see colour.  I can't tell if this is legit, but the glasses are actually being sold.  I'm guessing it is legit because Valspar is big company, and if this were just a publicity stunt it would be in seriously bad taste.

With my limited knowledge of colour-blindness, I don't understand how an external lens could allow people to see colour when they couldn't before.  Is it that it only works with people who have weak colour vision, rather than total colour blindness?  Can somebody explain the basic theory behind this technology?

It's a filter. It cuts out the light frequencies for which your "red" and "green" (don't know the scientific name) detectors have very similar sensitivities. It only works if there are frequencies for which both of them don't have the same sensitivity, and obviously doesn't work if you are missing one kind of detector to begin with.

EDIT: I gather that different colour-blind people have different frequency sensitivities, so single-measure-fits-all glasses will not work for all. Maybe they could tailor them to each person if they become popular.

Here's an article by someone who says they didn't really do anything for him: http://mashable.com/2015/03/23/glasses-solve-color-blindness/.

So the guy says he was diagnosed with anomalous trichromacy, and that the glasses don't work for him, and that the sales guys said it won't work for true dichromatic colorblindness.

I suspect he is actually a dichromat (completely missing green cones) rather than a trichromat (altered function of green cones).

I'd be interested to try these out, but my colorblindness is extremely mild and limited, so it wouldn't be worth it.
