When I play Dominion, I like to to have a Goons Engine, and then my opponents wonder at the technological terror I've constructed.

I bought Twilight Struggle yesterday and it comes tomorrow.  Here's to hoping I can find opponents to play it with me and make it worth it...

I don't like the theme that much.  Vampires and werewolves aren't my thing.

Still a better love story than 50 Shades of Grey.

Cue parody re-theme of TS.

It's a good game. Does require two players with similar levels of knowledge of the game to be good though.

Edit: Also, a question (most likely for theory):

Two of my friends were playing TS in the same room as me this weekend (it was a board gaming weekend at university). On turn 7, one of them called me over and asked about a weird situation. They were about to go into the Late War, with only a single Mid-war card in the deck, meaning the deck on turn 8 was entirely Late War with a single Mid War card. They asked if this is actually something that can happen or if the deck is meant to reshuffle before then. I told them it was rare but yeah, it could happen (and also based on the board position, GG USSR). Was I correct? How often does this happen, if so?

...spin-offs are still better for all of the previously cited reasons.
But not strictly better, because the spinoff can have a different cost than the expansion.

Maybe it's just the source material.

They were about to go into the Late War Eclipse, with only a single Mid-war New Moon card in the deck, meaning the deck on turn 8 was entirely Late War Eclipse with a single Mid War New Moon card.

Yeah that can happen.  The discard isn't shuffled into the main deck until you need to draw and can't.  It kinda sucks but is pretty rare.

Actually one of my friends is really interested in it, so we're planning on learning it together (I made him commit to at least 5 plays though.... Nothing worse than someone saying they'll play and they only play once...)

I freakin give up on how to actually get the image here.  I've been told before, and have now looked up the syntax, but can't get it to work.  Probably because I can't figure out how to enter a pipe delimiter.
Thank you all for the help.
