Speaking of headphones, who was it recently that started the thread on investing in some better headphones? I've searched and can't find it, but I'd like to know if they bought the JVC model I recommended, and what they think.

I didn't upgrade anything, and I can hear stuff I didn't before.

Mostly things like why it's a good idea to burn down the house. Not sure why that's getting louder.

I think the sound is better. My old headset sounds "further away".

When I started typing this I was going to mention that I could now hear hissing at low volumes that I couldn't before. It turns out this is a known issue with the Realtek driver that can be "fixed" by uninstalling it. So I should get on much better with them now!

They are comfortable.

EDIT: I'm pretty sure I just heard a microphone cover resonating. I'm impressed.

I got a rebound keyboard a couple of weeks ago when my G15 gave up the ghost... and it's just not the same.

Yep. I've been using a standard mouse for years.

Yeah, that's what I use too... A guy I worked with over the summer had one of these that was pretty cool. Really hard to get used to and ultimately I found a regular mouse was easier for me... We have a box full of these in our computer lab at school, but nobody knows how to hook them up/the computers won't allow us to install the appropriate software because of permissions or something... Seems pretty wasteful.

Yeah, my writeup was saying that the $300 extra to get the full fledged 3D Connexion mouse easily paid for itself in productivity increase considering that $100 was an appropriate cost for productivity increase seeing as the full version keeps your hand on the mouse instead of transitioning back and forth to the keyboard.
