Can someone make this funnier for me?
It's actually not a comic for humor.
The pokedex entry for Cubone says that it wears the skull of its dead mother. In the original Pokemon games, there is a subplot at one point where you actually encounter an orphan Cubone as well as the ghost of a Marowak (the evolved form of Cubone) who was killed by Team Rocket. When you defeat the ghost Marowak, it says that her soul has finally moved on.
Because of that and a similar plot in the anime, millions of children were traumatized. The comic just expounds on the tragic backstory of Cubone. All the pokemon games also feature fossil pokemon. You can obtain fossils of extinct pokemon and then have them brought back to life at a lab. So here, Cubone hears about this science and is asking for the researcher to bring its mother back to life by using the skull.
In fact, this back story is apparently common to all Cubone. If you think about it though, that makes no sense. But it's just one more reason to believe
the theory that the pokedex is being written by these adventurous children who really have no idea what they're talking about.
