But anyway, here is the code I put in the head section of the page:

<meta http-equiv="Refresh" content ="0;url=http://www.google.com">

Sorry, could you go into more detail? What do I have to change to make it work in a random post in this forum?

Oh, sorry, I just thought you wanted to have the status bar read one URL while redirecting to another URL so you can obfuscate the real destination. I was just giving a redirect code.

Randomizing from a list of topics in the board is a bit beyond me. I'm sure I could do it, but I'd have to devote time to research, and it'd be faster for someone else to answer.

"This chart documents the origin and evolution of intellectual property."

*This chart contains a lot of gratuitous curves that really confuse the graphic and make it look like a lot more is happening than really is, which is somewhat the point of this document, it seems.

This really bothers me.. it feels like the same kind of rhetoric that people make to show that Quantum Mechanics proves that we don't know anything and mysticism is real.

Ah sorry, that's exactly what I was looking for. I was asking how to use this huh grammar. Where do I put this snippet? Where does the real URL go? And the fake one?

In the code, replace Google with your new destination. You edit your source page and place that code between <head> and </head>. Then when that page is run, it'll automatically direct the user to that page (assuming he forbids his browser from running any commands).

If you don't have access to the HTML code, then I don't know how to proceed.

I didn't.  I read maybe the first 5 pages and then scrolled through the rest.

But now that you've done so, how has your life changed?

Apparently it's not!  There are news articles from back when this was something new.  For example:

Do you ever get that feeling watching movies or something where you're so embarrassed for the people on screen that you just want to burrow into the couch and hide? That is how I feel right now.

From what I remember, Arnell is a brander/designer who did really good work which had good results and got praise from both designers and consumers. Then he went kinda crazy and overboard, but still got good results, so people put up with him. Then he didn't have as many slam-dunk results. Not sure what's going on with him now.

It looks like something that came from the mind of Terry Gilliam.

Speaking of which, The Zero Theorem has a ridiculous swarm of signs telling people what not to do at a park. It amused me greatly.

BP spent over $7 million on their logo change back in 2000

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/849475.stm

They basically came up with a green and yellow flower to link them to green and clean technologies, wonder how that worked out for them...

Well, I'm still not even buying Exxon gas, so it's not going to work out very well for them with regards to me.

My favorite (and ongoing) logo fiasco is for a United States insurance company called Nationwide. About 10 years ago they changed their logo to a blue rectangular (nearly square) outline surrounding white space.  Singularly unimpressive.

Edit: Correct typo

Or maybe you're opening threads in the strategy article section, where people post a little less.

BP spent over $7 million on their logo change back in 2000

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/849475.stm

They basically came up with a green and yellow flower to link them to green and clean technologies, wonder how that worked out for them...

I know a guy who until very recently was a higher-up in BP in the environmental side of things. He was doing some work on the cleanup. From what I understand, BP was (maybe still is) doing a lot of work in energy sources other than fossil fuels. Anyway according to him (and he would know), when the spill first happened and they were ordered to pay out such-and-such huge amounts of dollars, they didn't even fight it. They were trying to take responsibility as best they could. But it got to the point where everybody and their brother in the affected areas were trying to get a piece of that sweet BP money pie, even for stuff completely unrelated to the spill. Basically the lawyers smelled blood and would have been happy to bankrupt BP completely. So of course BP eventually started fighting all the court battles to keep themselves in business.

Anyway, this is secondhand info, so don't quote me. It's interesting how there are always multiple sides to the story.
