Sorry I haven't posted in a while. I might try out some of the challenges, but I might end up a little busy on some of the days, so don't heavily rely on me to be a guinea pig , but I'll try to help.

It's about time for a bump here -- I'd like to have at least 3 more people signed up within the next week, preferrably more (16 total, 5 more than we have now, is the sweet spot).

There's a lot of really cool stuff that's going to happen this season. If you have any reservation about joining, I can assure you that you're going to have a lot of fun this season pretty much no matter what. I've got some awesome things planned!

If you feel like you don't know what you're doing or you're unfamiliar with the game of Survivor, don't let that stop you! You can ask questions to get a basic competency of the game mechanics pretty easily, and from that point you're pretty much on a level playing field with everyone else once the game starts.

To people who have already signed up, let's maybe try and increase visibility so we can make sure this game gets enough people by the time we want to start?

An idea, if other people put links in their signatures that advertise the game (like I did), that's probably an easy way to increase visibility. Totally voluntary, of course.

EDIT: For some challenges it would be nice to be able to automate certain parts by using a web portal of some kind: even something as simple as this would be very useful:

- go to a certain URL
- URL asks you to put in a secret word
- If you put in the wrong word it tells you to try again
- If you put in the right word it tells you that you were correct and gives you some kind of verification code

I can host something like this but I've never coded anything like it before, even a template that has "hello world" code in it would be very helpful.

That's great! I'll put you on the list and I'm planning to start pinging people later this week.

In terms of time commitment, of course as I've said before, you'll get out of the game what you put into it. I'd say if you're looking for a "minimum commitment" I'd say you should try and check in about once per day, but of course that's just an average and you can easily go a couple of days without checking in and probably be fine.

1. Bump for more signups. Optimistically we have 14 people, which is the minimum for the game. It's possible that people will drop out in the next week and I'd really like to have 16 people. There's still the next week for signups but the sooner the better.

2. Hopefully later tonight I'll be sending out links to confessional QTs to everyone who has said they're playing so far. There will be a description inside the QT as to what all it's for, but the short version for now is that it's your main way of communicating with the moderators. Importantly, in the next week (so before the game officially begins) you'll be asked to fill out a short pre-game survey, and doing that will be your confirmation that you're willing and able to play FS2. The survey shouldn't take more than 10 minutes at most.

Any questions that you don't necessarily want to have others see you ask can be asked there.

Everyone on the list in the OP for either playing or maybe playing should have just been sent a forum PM with a link to your confessional QT. The QT has a post in it with some details on how to use your confessional QT, and a pre-game survey.

If you didn't get a link and you should have, let me know ASAP and I'll fix it.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask in your confessional or here, though keep in mind that we're probably already to the point where it may be wise not to share all of your deepest, darkest secrets with the world.

So I was unclear when I wrote some of the questions and there seems to be some minor confusion:

I'm looking for one answer on the questions. I realize the way I worded #5 implies that you can just pick as many as you want. Consider this my getting used to being a moderator -- I should speak more precisely.

If you can't or don't want to decide on just one answer, then I can either pick randomly for you or you can narrow it down and one of us can pick randomly among those.

Things are coming along nicely. The only people who aren't confirmed at this point I've heard from, but there are very minor changes to their pre-game survey that need to be made and that's it.

As of right now we still only have 13 people. I'm still holding out hope that we can get up to 16 before the season starts. If Wednesday gets here and we aren't at 14 yet then we'll delay the start of the game until we can find person #14. Otherwise we'll start then with however many people we have.

Here's hoping that the fact that the game will start soon will help us fill the last few slots before Wednesday arrives!

Been a while since I've done a forum game (read: mafia) and while I don't have tons of time to spend on this, I get the impression that it will not be as critical as mafia to be kept up to date with a massive thread since it will be more personal/one on one (tell me if I'm wrong...)

I have watched a few seasons of the show, but haven't really been keeping up with it recently.  But I understand the idea.
