I finally for the first time did the whole "Give opponent a province with ambassador to end the game".  I was going to win anyway though, it just sped it up a bit.

In a four player game it speeds things up a lot.

I played a game with Mint, Fool's Gold, and Thief. My opponent goes first, lays down $5, and buys Mint. I looked at the $4 in my hand, sighed, and bought Thief.

I ended up winning that game, and I think that Thief was part of it. But man, opening Thief felt so wrong.

I did that with colonies in a three-player... A slight miscounting; there were three colonies left, not two, but I still won. And it confused my opponents no end.
