Mr. Card Game

By any chance, anyone here seen Mr. Card Game yet? http://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/130764/mr-card-game

It has an average rating of 7.66 at this moment, but it's hard to say if that's because the game is good or because of fanboys for Kingdom of Loathing (and KoL truly does kick ass and does deserve fanboys). I was disappointed with Order of the Stick, so I wouldn't want a repeat with Mr. Card Game.

Was it you who got me into KoL?  Because if so, I hold you liable!  Or something.

However, I haven't played the game, or seen it, nor do I really intend to.  It doesn't seem like the sort of thing my group would play, and when the intro starts with "Yeah, this online game I play produced a card game" eyeballs will glaze over.

Edit:  Also, the OOTS game was an extreme disappointment; I'm very glad I got to play on someone else's copy.

I think I did lead you down that dark path.

And yeah, KoL is awesome. I predict grand disappointment with the card game, but I'd really like to judge for myself. Or at least get some input from people who can keep their KoL love separate from a card game review.

From what I've heard, the Order of the Stick board game is a lot better with the expansion that makes it shorter. It's called "the Shortening", of course.

The number of changes and ridiculousness just since I started playing about a year and a half ago is pretty impressive.  And almost always hilarious.

This is true. However even with the expansion the game is still not that good. Unfortunately.

Oh yeah, so much new stuff in KoL. Started playing 6 years ago, stopped for a few years and will probably never catch up again ;).

No havn't seen the Mr. Card Game yet.

Only played the  OOTS game without expansion and i agree it was a bit disappointing.

Same name in KoL?  I'm not finding you.

Ax999

I just logged in for the first time since... The fudge mountain christmas? Whenever that was. Got the quest for the Orc Chasm. I've always wanted a few long hard screws.

I'm not a huge fan of Tom Vasel, but here's his review:

"Ec Cetra" AAAAAAAAAAARRRRGH! >:(

Thanks for posting the video! My brother-in-law is way into Kingdom of Loathing, so maybe I'll pick this up for him.
