Scout Hall: A self comboing Peddler Concept

Scout Hall
Action/Victory - $4
+1 Action
+$1
Reveal cards from your deck until you reveal a Victory card.  Put it in your hand and discard the other revealed cards.

Worth 1 VP

A Peddler that is guaranteed to either chain or choke. With trashing it can be a very reliable way of generating a lot of $, but it will then start to choke on the green that you buy with it.

Interestingly, if you were to trash all other victory cards from your deck, you get no additional benefit from having more than one Scout Hall in your hand. This is unusual for a self comboing card.

I suppose. There always is the possibility of discarding good cards. Kinda like a self-Fortune Teller.

Draw up to X cards and Tunnel come to mind. I think there are far more cards that benefit from that effect though (Baron, Hovel, any card involving discarding, trash for benefit cards etc.). I do wish that Farming VIllage was a junk card Scrying Pool from the start. It would even be more simple and less wordy.

However that effect wouldn't work for "Scout Hall", which is based on the premise of being able to dig for itself, but not reliably.

Yes, but worse in a LOT of kingdoms? If you are to have a strategy based off draw-to-X you want a disappearing Village. Farming Vilage replaces itself. And when going for Tunnels, there should be better discarding than just Farming Villag.

Play Farming Pool.
Trigger reshuffle while revealing Victory cards.
Victory cards all miss the reshuffle. If you didn't reshuffle that turn, then it's exactly the same as old Farming Village

sounds better to me...
