I would go with +4 Actions. It will usually still be worse than Village, but explosive (maybe also swingy) at times. It is kind of a small and reversed Tactitian: Have a great turn now, a worse one next turn.

4? Woah. Has there been a card published that gives you 4 Actions? (That isnt a prize)
But ya, I dont see a big difference between +3 and +4 actions, and priced at $2, I think weaker than village is ok. Compared to native village, i suppose its usually weaker unless you've got a butload of terminal drawers, but I'm ok with that.

Tribute.

Trusty Steed says the choices must be different btw, hope you haven't been using the card improperly.

Havent played much with Tournament, so no, havent been playing it improperly, just not much, forgot it was 2&2.

And I meant is there a card that gives you straight +4 Actions, not dependant on other circumstances. You could argue Throne Room or Golem can give you 4 Actions depending on what happens after you play it. Is there a card that will always give you 4 Actions when you play it once.

I gave you the source of 4 actions that is least dependent on other circumstances.  It is the best answer I can give.  There are not even any cards that give you 2 actions without any dependency on the circumstances.  Just the other day I played all the other cards in my hand, then played a Festival.  It didn't give me +2 actions.  Joey just said, "Damnit Alex, stop putting Dominion cards in your Magic decks, it's not funny anymore."

There is no card which does this, no.  I believe Crossroads is the only card with "+n actions" printed on it for n>2, and even it is conditional.

Still, I don't think there's anything wrong with putting +3 actions on a card (+4 might be a little overkill though).  The main concern with putting too many actions on a card is that the card might render other Villages useless whenever it appears, but a card that is just +3 actions with a drawback shouldn't have that effect, especially since without draw it is not easily spammable.

Well said. That basically explains why I was asking. I was kinda shocked at the suggestion of +4 Actions, thinking it was "overkill" as you put it. Unless I plan on an "unused actions matter" sub theme, there really isnt much of a difference between +3 and +4, and like you said, it can render other villages obsolete.

On an entirely different subject: I like the ideas, but some of the names don't really roll off the tongue that well.  Maybe it's just me, but "Hired" doesn't seem to fit with the other word some of the time.  Like "Hired Pathcutter" really doesn't sound right to me.  I do agree that you need something a la Sir or Dame to quickly show that it's a Hireling, but I don't know if that's quite it.

Pathcutter is actually the only one I didnt really like with "Hired", I considered Hired Guide, but Pathcutter just fits the art and effect so much better.  Maybe I'll scrap him from the Hired pile and have a normal Pathcutter. Then I can keep the Hired Escort, which suits the hired pile perfectly.  The only other one I was iffy about was Tomb Raiders. Hired Graverobber sounded better to me, but I didnt want to use a published card name with Hired in front of it.  I'll most likely decide on a new name for them...
