Fewest Turns To A Province And One Other Card

I apologize if this has been done before, but assuming perfect shuffle luck etc. etc. what's the fewest number of turns you can get your deck to contain just a province and one other card? Solo game, or allowing an opponent to be playing

I've got two ways of getting it in seven, one solo and one with an opponent and the right shuffle luck for them as well.

I've been using ways to get to Forge quickly, whether with Chapel/CR or Tribute/Duchess. Better suggestions?

Turn 1: Buy Quarry
Turn 2: Buy Chapel
Turn 3: Draw QCCCC, Buy Forge
Turn 4: Draw ChECCC, Trash ECCC
Turn 5: Draw EE (shuffle) QCF, Forge QCEE into Province
Turn 6: Draw CCCCh (shuffle) F,Trash FCCC

On Turn 7 your deck is Chapel and Province.  I'm not sure if that counts as 6 turns or 7.

Chapel/Coppersmith can do it in 6 I think. Might be seven. I'm too lazy to check right now and I can't get good enough shuffle luck on Iso =[

I did a quick check and I think you are correct.

Open Chapel/Coppersmith
3: Draw Coppersmith + 4 Copper and buy Province.  13 cards in deck
4: Draw Chapel + 4 Estate/Copper. Trash them.  9 cards in deck, 2 left to draw.
5: Draw the last two, reshuffle, draw Chapel again with 2 more starting cards. Trash them.
6: 5 Cards left should be Coppersmith, 2 starting cards, Chapel and Province. Trash everything but the Province.

I don't think Baron alone can get you to a Province.  Unless I am missing something it will not work like Coppersmith

The idea was turn 3 forge again, as with your quarry/chapel.

If we allow five opponents, you can do this between your turns 4 and 5. Just go last, buy the province turn 3 with a coppersmith, and have everyone else play bishop on their turns 4 and 5.

Solitaire only...

Draw 5x copper.

Turn 1: Buy Council Room.
Draw 2x copper, 3x estate.

Turn 2: Buy nothing.
Draw Council Room, 4x copper.

Turn 3: Play Council Room. Hand now contains 5 coppers, 3 estates. (2 coppers on deck still.) Buy a Potion.
Draw 4x copper, Council Room.

Turn 4: Play Council Room. Hand now contains 7 coppers, one estate. (2 estates and a potion on deck still.) Buy a King's Court.
Draw 2x estate, potion, king's court, council room.

Turn 5: Play KC-Council Room. Hand now contains 7 coppers, 3 estates, potion. (Deck empty.) Buy a Possession.
Draw KC, Possession, 3x estate.

Turn 6: Play KC-Possession.

From now on, since your deck consists of 14 cards only and you have a Council Room, perfect shuffle luck ensures you can play KC-Possession more than once every 3 turns. This ensures that you never begin your turn 7. You can take your time finishing the puzzle however you like.

If you use this strategy, you'll also need something like Native Village or Island, since you can't trash anything permanently.

Good point. Ambassador works too.

Edit: A faster way to get started with this strategy:

Open Throne Room/Masquerade.

On turn 3, have a hand of Throne Room, Masquerade, 3x copper. Play TR-Masq to draw copper and 3x estate. Trash two estates. Buy a potion.

On turn 4, have the three coppers that were remaining on your deck, along with TR and Masq again. Play TR-Masq, drawing 3x copper and a the potion. Buy a possession.

On turn 5, have the copper and estate that were remaining on your deck, along with TR, Possession, and potion. TR-Possession to get the possessions started.

First possession turn, hand contains Masq and 4 coppers. Play Masq to draw E and P into hand (but don't bother trashing). Buy another TR.

Second possession turn, hand contains 3x C, TR, Possession. TR that Possession to keep things going. Buy another Masquerade I guess.

Shouldn't be hard to keep permanent possession turns from here on out. This method never even reaches turn 6.

Ok, those possession ones were really cool. Would never have thought of that.

Without Possession it seems that 6 turns might be the best you can do in solitaire.

Here's one that doesn't open with Chapel, although it picks it up.

Turn 1: Hamlet
Turn 2: Library
Turn 3: Hamlet discards 2 Estates, Library draws up to 7, play 7 coppers, buy Forge. (Draw contains Estate)
Turn 4: Ham, Lib, 2 Est, Cop. Ham draws Forge, discards 2 Est. Library draws 4 Cop, 1 Est. Forge trashes 5 Cop, 1 Est into Chapel. (Draw contains 2 Copper)
Turn 5: Chap, Lib, 2 Cop, Est. Chapel Lib and 2 Coppers.
Turn 6. Have five card deck of Ham, Chap, 2 Est, Forge. Forge everything into a Province.

A solution without Forge

1) buy governor
2) buy chapel
3) governor -> gold, chapel 3xestate
4) 5xcopper -> mint
5) governor gold->prov, chapel 2xcopper
6) chapel governor,mint

Another solution with Chapel but without Forge in 7:

Open Chapel/Moneylender
3:  Draw ML+CCCC -> 6 -> Gold -> Discard ML+CCCG
4:  Draw Chapel+CEEE -> Discard Chapel
5:  Draw ML+CCCG -> 8 -> Prov -> Discard ML+CCGP
6:  Draw Chapel+CCCC -> Discard Chapel
7:  Draw Chapel+ML+G+P -> Trash ML+G

Here's a cute one without forge or chapel but requires opponent help. 6 Turns.

T1/T2: Mint, Embargo
T3: CCEEEmb. Buy Steward.
T4-T6. Trash two cards on turns T4-T6 you have few enough that you can always draw your steward).
After your T6 you will only have a steward left. Meanwhile, your opponent has bought a Province and an Ambassador and doesn't ambassador anything until Ambassadoring you a Province on T6.[\spoiler]

A six turn colony solution:

1. Buy library
2. Buy Native village
3. N(estate to mat), L (7C)- buy forge
4. EENLF: N(C to mat), forge EE to remodel (any 4 cost works), Lib (mint, keep a copper)
5. Hand NFRMC: N(L to mat). Forge RMC to plat
6. Forge plat + N to colony
