Is it worth making this board guest-viewable so that more people are tempted into registering to play Forum Games?

The drawback used to be that the RSS feed would basically be pure Forum Games posts, but hopefully there'd be less of that now that the actual game threads are moved away.

It depends where you want to go with the boards really.

If you want to expand that area in future then it really should be guest viewable.

If you woulld prefer to keep it centered around board games, then leave it as is.

Or you could flip a coin?

I don't know. I'll probably vote 'no' personally, because one of the things that I really enjoy is having the community of players be a group that was (and is) brought together by Dominion originally. I don't want to be a draw for people who are coming "just because they see 'X' being played as PBF" and have no interest in Dominion.

To me it's kind of like thinking... "Oh no! f.DS will die without Iso!" - No, f.DS's core is Dominion. Iso was a nice platform. But that isn't what brought everybody here. I don't want the draw to playing Forum Games on f.DS to be "Forum Games", rather "People who enjoyed Dominion playing other games together". Is it limiting? Yes, probably. But I think it keeps the community closer. I know everybody who plays here. I'm worried that having it publicly available might deteriorate the community in the long run. I would hate to see a "Decline of Civility on Forum Games" thread at any point in the future...

I think it'd be more accurate to say f.DS would die without Dominion, and some might make the argument that Dominion dies without iso.. (I'm not saying that, to be clear)

I voted no for exactly Galz's reasons.  I like that we all come to f.ds for a reason other than these games (except the friends, etc. we invite in).

The funny thing is, you still can't join f.ds just for the games.  The bot defense is made up of dominion card cost questions!
