The thing about this executive order is it seems like very few people switched characters? I assume ashersky asked this on page four because he'd seen the available Executive orders and was trying to judge how useful/ detrimental this one would be:

Is there a list of who did and did not keep their characters from Season 1?

And then I assume he passed it along to MiX, who then asks people to explicitly claim if they swapped characters and... no one does? Even mathdude, who MiX was assuming swapped, won't confirm. So I'm confused as to why MiX enacted this order which is only going to affect people who either chose to stay silent or lie... which is more likely to be scum than town.

MiX, want to walk me through that?

I think that was a needlessly confusing way of articulating my thoughts. Let me start over.

If we choose to no exile tonight, that gives us a chance of winning through the alternate win-con, but it decreases our chance of winning by the normal win-con enough that I don't think it's worth it, especially when we factor in not having a normal day one with wagons and an exile that we can analyze once we have more info.

PPE: MiX, but I think he's just agreeing with me.

On the subject of no exile, I think I'm anti, at least for day 1? Feels like we have essentially two paths to victory and they undermine each other, but it's a lot easier to swap to the "no removals" win con later on than it is to start with it and handicap ourselves.

I used to text-wall long posts, with multi-quotes. But I learned recently it's easier for people to respond (specifically to quote my posts if needed, especially from mobile) if I make multiple smaller posts. So I'll try to do that more. It hurts me a little inside to multi-post, but I think I'll get over it.

This sounds like more than just reading setup posts. It sounds like there may actually be a valid strategy in using the no exile. It's a question of whether we do it now, later, all the time... who knows? I'm sure there's more we don't know.

If I make it to like day 3 I usually will make a wall post or two. Or after a really eventful day 1. Honestly, Eddie flipping town in memento after my exhaustive case on him is really making me doubt my ability to play this game. It felt airtight. I'm feeling like "why bother making a case like that again?"

But we'll see.

I did not read all of game one. I did skim it. I'm not sure how useful I will be on day 1, both because of my powers and because this game is so complex I need a little time to get the lay of the land.

I think it's time for another Bastard game, this one based on the old Eon Games/ Fantasy Flight classic Cosmic Encounter. In the game, players are given a choice of two alien races to play as, randomly selected from 51 possible choices (more with expansions.) So, true to that spirit, once I know how many folks are playing, I will physically shuffle my deck of Cosmic Encounter race cards, deal out two to each of you, and PM you information about your choices. Then, once everyone has selected a race, I will randomly determine player alignments and try to make a reasonably balanced role madness game using the flavor of the chosen aliens, trying to reflect how they function in Cosmic Encounter where possible. The reason its a bastard game is that in order to do this I might need to include some roles and powers which are considered bastard. But the goal will be something balanced and fun, rather than something like joth's "no town, only four scum teams" bastard game.

(Just to clarify, that game was fun. It was not balanced.)

The beauty of this is I can run it with however many people want to play, but I know there's a lot going on so we'll at least wait until Memento finishes up to start. I also don't want to start it until I get back from my trip to Minnesota, so even if it fills it won't start until July.

So, who's interested?

Never said I had to decide what to do with it. Said I had to decide how it would effect the way we play. It’s a passive ability. Saying any more about it is not helpful.

What do you mean to imply with this question? You seem to think he is scum, since you voted for him.

I do think he’s scum. Except for that. It doesn’t quite fit. I thought it was worth discussing. But I still think he’s the best exile today by a lot.
