Day 2 starts with the cop result on math. We've talked about it extensively. I guess I disagree with the "town cop doesn't just come out with his first result" argument. It's sometimes the right play, and if he was basically a one-shot, which he implied, maybe the best play.

Also it's an argument first made by mathdude, who turned out to be scum, so... not sold on it, tbh.

I'm not finding any Day 2 quotes that seem worth pulling out. But the fact is math's "I'm a cylon cop too!" fake claim is a weird move. Like, what was his endgame if Jack flipped town? math isn't the kind of player who plays to keep himself alive one more day. He plays the long game. I think if he claimed Jack was a cylon he had some evidence that was true.

I think Jack is a better exile than gkrieg today.

Rereading gkrieg's day 2 with the knowledge that math was scum just gives me no desire to exile gkrieg today. Sorry, but I'm not seeing it.

Less than two days left. Slow day at work. gkrieg and scola are top wagons but not sure why we exile scola if he's gonna die anyway, so time for a gkrieg re-read to see if I support this exile or if I want to try and get another one going.

Day1:

Gkrieg feels off so far this game.  Too quiet.  /randomgutread

Scum!ash casting shade on gkrieg. Guess it doesn't mean much, since we already know if gkrieg is scum, he's different color scum than ash.

gkrieg isn't very active day one. He puts LL to L-2 which might be significant for those of us who think LL is scummy. At that point the LL wagon was only one vote ahead of the ADK wagon, so if gkrieg and LL were partners he probably would have voted for ADK to make the wagons even, at least I would have as scum, you bus when the wagon either isn't gonna go through or definitely is, deciding votes aren't usually busses, plus as far as I can tell he hadn't said anything about ADK all day so he could have voted wherever without contradicting himself. Still, that's a weak case even if we knew LL's alignment and its super weak if we only suspect it.

This is interesting. Why does LL say this? "you of all people" to me seems like he's reminding gkrieg of some non-public information they share.

gkrieg unvotes LL after his claim and proceeds to give town points to a lot of people some of whom are scum.

Then he and I argue about who is lurking more, and he hammers ADK, which is townie I think, but given the town's alternate wincon maybe slighlty less townie than it would normally be.

It’s not that exiling me is pro-town exactly, but it’s better than exiling a random townie. I have an ability that triggers if I’m exiled. It’s kinda useful but not that useful. I don’t think it’s helpful for me to say more than that.

Why Jack?

It's half "something has been feeling off about him" and half "I don't think scum!math fake-claims a cop result on a random player to save himself". We almost certainly have a scum faction other than Cylon extremists and the narrative where mathdude had suspicions that Jack belonged to that faction makes more sense with what I know about mathdude than him picking a target at random.

Of course what trips me up there is how hedgy he was about Jack- if he knew he would have claimed his cop ability was alignment specifically.

Does that make sense?

scola and Didds are looking scummy to me for their continued support of Cylon=scum. Last game there was a Cylon-aligned scum faction and there were still human-aligned Cylons. I don't like the way gkrieg and math have played their hands, but they are feeling more town. Maybe because they have been more active.

scola perseverating on the results thing seems unnecessary - it's pretty clear the role description just said "investigate" without saying why you would want to know the answer.

I was all set to vote Glooble, but now I'm not sure what to think of his response. Glooble, is your role negative utility for town?

I think it's positive utility overall, it's just all three of my abilities are HIGHLY situational, to the point that I could absolutely see the whole game happening and none of them being relevant.

One of the reasons I have been lurking today is that, without claiming too much, there is... something in my role that makes my exile not entirely without upside. For town, I mean. But I guess I still prefer to send someone to the brig who might actually be scum.

Just looking at everything, where is glooble?

All of the active people have interesting things going on with both reasons to exile and not to exile.

I see no reason we shouldn't exile glooble. D2 has been "full" of common knowledge posts and then just jumping on the jack wagon. "Full" = all 5 posts

I will be around to switch up votes before deadline, but let's experiment here a bit

I've been busy. I've been keeping tabs. I've been moving my vote based on new info. I haven't had time for any deep-dive investigative posts.

Damn, the one game I was agreeing with ash, and he dies...I guess it makes sense he didn't flip town, but still.

You are assuming neither Lovers nor Cylon Extremists are the "Scum" faction. Big assumption.

Golly, I wish LL had more to say. I was sure I was going to move my vote…

I still might, I guess. Mathdude isn’t looking townie in his exchange with e. I am so here for engaged e, although I also don’t know quite how to process. Still, his case on ADK is better than any other case we’ve seen.

If we’re thinking of the lurkers as scummy Scola and Dylan make the list, but EFHW has a substantive reason for gkrieg.

My towny folks are MiX, EFHW, and e(maybe)
Don’t knows are the lurkers/absents (Dylan, Scola,), Swowl, Glooble
Don’t know/lean scummy LL, gkrieg, math, ADK, Ashes

I'm not sure why you read EFHW townie. It seems like she hasn't really done much this game.

But you also don't have reads on Swowl and Glooble (who have done more, but you put them in the lurkers category)?

I’ve done very little. The last 4 days there’s been a 4-year old and a 6-year old running around and I haven’t been able to get on the thread much.

Just very chill, very nonchalant, easygoing....scum? I like having some pressure there.  Not a compelling case to be sure, but what is your "case" on Jack? Looks like it was just wagon hopping.  Why the hesitancy now to hop on a new one? Too far into D1? Are they your scum partner!??!?!?!?!?!?!

You know me, I don't hop on wagons easily, not this early in the day. Jack's random partial claim was weird, and felt more like nervous scum than nervous town to me.

Looking at it now, it seems like town is more likely to get use out of the power flexibility than scum, just because of sheer numbers. So I'm cool with it, even though not having played the previous game, I have to miss out.
