But not just any word is right for every context.  There are subtle shades to language.

Whoa there, we don't take kindly to this sort of talk around here.

To protect the innocent I propose we put these suggestive card names like Secret Cave in spoiler tags from now on.

I suspect a good number of the missing ones are 2-word names. Adjective+Noun is hard to guess.

I find it hard to imagine that there's not a Haunted Something-or-other

Strategy stealing doesn't work, first player loses when he ties score.

And empty piles can mean that mirroring is not always possible anyway.

As I have said elsewhere, the release date is hinging on the plastic trays arriving by boat.
Wild speculation: this suggests the plastic tray is somehow different from that used by other Dominion sets/expansions?
It's the Dark Ages tray. There is incentive not to make new ones.

Ooh so there's a 20 card pile to go in the Rats slot

Either that, or there was some incentive not to make a new tray. Hard to know if that's the case though.

Oh, I know this one. It actually is the case because DXV said so just above there.

There is also possibly a reason to use the Dark Ages one specifically. It is also possible that this was a less-than-100%-serious prediction made for fun.

Another thing that some longer shows do which is sometimes nice is to give a brief rundown of topics discussed with the corresponding time stamps in the episode notes. That way you know where to skip to if you want to hear just one particular portion of the episode.

I really don't want this discussion to split off into a whole different thing, but
Quote

could maybe be changed to

or even just

I don't know if this is a "common plateau" type thing or if it was just me but I distinctly remember having a mindset like "yeah yeah I get it, I wanna draw my deck. but once I can get to $8 for a couple turns in a row I'd be a greedy sucker not to just buy provinces at this point"

Dominion Articles / Re: Dominion 101: What is an engine?

I'm going to disagree with the idea that an engine "typically" draws your entire deck each turn.  Often, perhaps.  But I don't think it's even 50% of engines.

It's way above 80% of engines and the remaining decks all have Goons, Fortune or cost reduction in them.

Is this differing play styles or differing definitions of engines? What percentage of total games would you guys say you end up drawing your deck each turn?

More than 50℅ of all games.

I feel like I made a big skill jump once I wrapped my head around the fact that "draw your deck" means "no, like literally draw your whole deck every turn."

When you think about it, "terminal" is also a term that you have to learn. I always though "splitter" and "terminal" were meant to be a pair of terms that complement each other. As in, the path splits to let you reach different terminals.

I have never found myself needing a catch-all term like "terminal," but if I did I would probably just go with "Royal Blacksmith variant."

Also pretty sure I disagree with DXV on the figurative thing. In the sentence "He is literally the devil," "literally" is being used figuratively.
Using "literally" figuratively does not mean using "literally" to mean "figuratively."

I actually didn't get what you were saying until you worded it this way.

Right, like when someone says "I literally ate a million pickles" they don't mean "I figuratively ate a million pickles" because likely no one ever would say the second one. It might even be true, in contrast to the first, but it's not what they intended to say.

Then you would say, "He is actually literally the devil."

I think "literally actually" is the standard the Times uses.

What if you're actually talking about the devil?

You mean if I'm literally referring to the devil?

Language is alive and has been for thousands of years and isn't ever ever going to conform to your rules regardless of how logical you insist that they are.

People complain about literally being used as exaggeration but never have a problem with "really" being used in similar ways. But, like, what do you think "really" started out as meaning? It's got a big hint right there in the spelling.

899 Korok seeds.

The sad part is that according to the interactive map that we've been using to find them all, we have them all. Meaning, at some point we accidentally marked off one that we didn't actually get. So now we have to go through them all and compare them to the in-game map to find which one we're missing. Very glad they show up on the in-game map, so we don't have to visit all 900 locations to check.

We do have 99.91% map percentage, meaning we have 100% of the locations done. Also got all 3 medals for killing all mini-bosses. Still several pictures left.

How many hours?

(well, rushes and slogs are super rare anyway)

I'd been thinking about this lately and wondering whether this was true, since I almost never play these anymore and didn't know if I should be doing them more. The last time I thought a straight workshop/gardens rush was going to be competitive I tried it and lost to some candlestick maker/pathfinding engine I hadn't noticed.

How do I decide whether to trash Copper or Estate with an opening Catapault?

Use an alt to spectate and check whether the attack will hurt your opponent.

This is the kind of top-player advice you shouldn't just be giving away for free.

I guess I don't really care so much about which word is used. But the question then is, is Throne Room a village? Is Prince a village? If yes, then it's all good if everyone could agree on that. But I just think a term that includes all these things is better than one that includes Necropolis but excludes Sauna/Avanto.

Why?

Just because I like to be able to quickly assess whether it's possible to draw my deck and play multiple terminals and thinking in those terms helps with that.
