Oh well. I guess this was harder than I thought. Never fear! Underdog is......not here.......but I've got a few hints.
The first is a small hint, but it could help: there are one each from base, intrigue, seaside, and cornucopia, and the other 3 are from DA.
Yeah, not that great of a hint. #2 is better: image #3 is from intrigue
And #3 is a dead giveaway: image #1 is from ruined mine!

Get out your microscopes! Okay, maybe not microscopes....but I think this will be pretty challenging. If not, I’ve got harder ones
I have cropped out a small section from various cards throughout any or all the expansions, and your job is to guess which cards they come from. You are allowed to look up the card pictures in any way you want to, since it would be pretty hard to do without them. The first one to guess all 7 correctly will get the prize of overwhelming satisfaction!
Feel free to post any other art-related challenges on this thread!

« on: September 01, 2012, 02:40:41 pm »Count will probably be good on 5/2 and with alt VP strategies, but other than that, terminal Gold with a penalty is pretty unspectacular compared to what a lot of other 5s do.
I was thinking more along the lines of gaining the duchy in most cases.

Yeah, it will be interesting to see if it is worth it to go out and buy the count when you get $5. I suppose earlier on it could be a pretty big boost.

Definitely going to be good with alt. VP strategies. The copper for gardens, the duchy for dukes and silk roads. Also the +$3 almost guarantees enough to buy gardens and silk roads. Furthermore, the discard doesn't hurt nearly as much when half your hand is green

There is a good percentage of the time when Fishing Village is on the board that you will buy it. If a good drawer like Torturer or Margrave is on the board, it's a done deal. There are also many times when cursers will show a dominant strategy that must be played.

Something that helps the Saboteur/Torturer thing is to do a veto for each player similar to isotropic. I therefore rarely play with those cards because they end up being vetoed.
As for the choice cards, IMO they are easier to keep track of than durations in seaside. I think intrigue is a good choice.

I don't know, the big box seems pretty cheap to me. A friend of mine got it and was sent the Seaside tokens instead of the Prosperity tokens, and he got like 12 extra silver along with 2 copies of every randomizer........yeah that helps a lot
The cards in the box stand up on end, so it makes it a taller box, and it's kind of hard to find stuff in it. It is still fun to play and it is cheaper....just not as professional and a little more work.

I've been teaching people how to playd Dominion for a long time irl, and I have found that base set is obviously the best set to teach on. I have also found that beginners love intrigue for its simplicity, but get kinda lost in hinterlands. Also carrying 1 box around imo is much easier than two especially for backpacks etc.
That's my experience, but if the people you are playing with are already pretty experienced, don't be afraid to get hinterlands.......It's fun

Yeah. I was trying to exclude Golem, Counterfeit, Band of Misfits, and all the dumb alt. VP thresholds. Did think of goons as getting 22 but it was too late lol!

Very good. I like the variety....there are a lot that I hadn't thought of. The only one I don't get is how Grujah's gets him +2 VP.
My original thought was Platinum, Venture, Curse, Curse, Ambassador.
Play the Ambassador returning 2 Curses to the supply and giving opponent a curse. Play the Venture, draw a Platinum, and buy a Colony.
