It's interesting how Shaman impacts so much. It majorly nerfs trashing attacks, since most of the time your opponent will be able to get back what you just trashed on their turn (although in multiplayer games it could have the effect of shuffling cards between players), unless you play multiple trashing attacks, in which case they'll only get back one of the cards you trashed and you'll get another one

But also it's kind of funny how the trash has been becoming gradually more "leaky". In the base set, trashing was permanent. Once a card was Trashed, it effectively ceased to exist for the rest of the game. Then a few cards were introduced, like Graverobber and Lurker, that could gain certain cards from the trash. And now we have Shaman giving you stuff from the Trash whether you want it or not

I'm really surprised King's Cache is able to cost $7 without any extra abilities while Tiara needs a buy and topdecking to cost the same as Throne Room.

Well, it's easy for it to be a net +$6, so in a lot of games it'll already be more valuable than Platinum, as long as you've also bought some Golds. And in games with things like Bank it could get really ridiculous

Cathedral + Shaman would be a weird combination. If both players have Cathedral, and there's nothing sending good stuff to the trash like trashing attacks, then Shaman is basically cancelling out Cathedral, so there wouldn't be much point in buying it

On the other hand, if your opponent buys Cathedral, then you pretty much have to follow suit, otherwise all their trash is going to end up in your deck

Trash for benefit + anything giving you an extra turn will be really good in a Shaman game, letting you get back the card you trashed on your regular turn in your extra turn

Shaman is going to have some weird effects with trashing attacks and trash for benefit. Also cards like Pillage will be really weird. I play a Pillage, it self-trashes, then my opponent gains it ...

If Feast were still in the game, that would be a really weird interaction too

New cursing attack: Buy a Curse with a Watchtower in hand in a game with Shaman ...

Buying a Mint with one or more Jeweled Eggs in play. Easy way to get a Loot early on!

81
Extra turns can be a good way to get your Landing Parties back into play. I had a game with Outpost and Landing Party, and since you often can't do much with an Outpost turn, you're often not losing much going straight into your Buy phase. Voyage would probably be an even better card to have with that

82
Looks like we can push this up even higher now with Loot!

83
Abundance's Duration effect doesn't play well with cards that let you gain Action cards on an opponent's turn. I had a recent game with Falconer + Abundance, and with one or more Abundances in play I found myself unwilling to use Falconer's Reaction. It would be even worse with cards that can force you to gain Action cards, like Barbarian or Jester, or your opponent buying a Messenger

84
Spell Scroll + Treasurer -- instantly empties the Treasurer pile and gives you $30.

Spell Scroll trashes itself to gain & play a Treasurer, which can pull the Spell Scroll back out of the trash into your hand (and net $3 each time). Repeat until the Treasurer pile is empty.

You'd need a bunch of extra Actions to make that work though. Treasurer doesn't play the card it gains and Spell Scroll is terminal

Spell Scroll is a Treasure; you don't need an Action to play it.

Oh, right. Momentarily forgot it was both an Action and a Treasure

Inherited Pillage could be potentially really brutal. There's a decent chance that one player could force the other to discard their Pillage, meaning that after the first shuffle, one player has two Spoils and the other doesn't

Interesting that Inherited can potentially create a situation where each player's starting cards are different. In practice, it probably won't happen much, because most of the time everyone's just going to replace one of the starting Estates, and if it's a kingdom that would favor replacing a Copper instead, it's likely that both players would realize that. But still, even the possibility of that happening is interesting

So, barring things like Ways or Enchantress, Landing Party would never get discarded from play, right? You play it, then it sits around until a turn where the first card you play is a Treasure, and at that point it gets top-decked, so when it comes to the Clean-Up phase, the only time it'll ever be in play is if it's still waiting for that trigger

Landing Party would be really strong with Capitalism

For clarification: You say that Inherited can replace any starting card - this would include any Heirlooms, right?

Pendant doesn't count Curses towards differently-named cards in games with Charlatan

Wealthy Village also isn't counting Curses with Charlatan

Inevitably there'll be kingdoms where the only card that gives Loot is Jeweled Egg, and the kingdom has no trashers

Pick Axe + Silver is a rather nice combo - convert your Silvers into Loot!

What really weirds me out is the choice of descriptions for Trait cards. Particularly that the name of the card is always used to refer to the pile (instead of something "this pile"). This in particular leads to a confusing card text for Cheap.

It’s already messed me up a couple of posts ago when I went to say “a cheap card” and then realized that that now has a specific rules meaning in Dominion, so I had to change it to “a low-cost card”.

That's the difference between a cheap card (a card with a low cost) vs a Cheap card (a card that has the Cheap trait)

(And a Cheap card might not be cheap - a Cheap King's Court is still $6 for example!)

Hunh, also I just realized that it would have no effect on cards like Transmute or Overlord whose cost does not include coins

Giving Loot-gainers a type would have required either not doing events and traits that give you loot or introducing dual-type landscapes, which we've never seen.

Spoiler…?

I have no knowledge of such a thing, but it's a possibility.

Doesn't seem like much of a possibility though... Loot is clearly pretty powerful and not easy to get. Hard to imagine how a Trait could cause an ordinary cheap pile like Village to suddenly give out a Loot without making that card way overpowered. And you can't really go with something like "if you have 3 ___ cards in play, gain a loot", because then it doesn't really work with expensive terminals and such.

I suppose something like a Trait (call it "Wealthy") that gives Wealthy Village's on-gain effect to the selected card could work

So far the Traits we've seen make the cards they're applied to better in some way - giving them extra options or making them easier to get as with Cheap. I wonder if there'll be any Traits that weaken the card they're applied to? I suppose Fawning can kinda do that to Province, depending on which card gets Fawning, but that's very much dependent on what card gets it

Mining Road + Sack of Loot would be extremely strong - and with two Mining Roads in play (or a Throned Mining Road), you could buy a Sack of Loot, play it immediately, then gain and play a Spoil too!

Storyteller + Staff could get rather interesting - play an Action card in the middle of resolving Storyteller!

Oh, wait, I just realized that possibility already existed with Crown, so it's not a new possibility (and also Spell Scroll would work that way)
