In what order are we putting the trash cards onto deck??
Does it matter?
Yes if the trash has at least 6 cards in it, then the order you put the cards onto deck would lead to different cards next turn. Presumably, you would put the top card of the trash on deck, then the next top card of the trash etc...

This game seemed to have the choice of 2 cursers- Soothsayer or Witch. Having not played soothsayer much, I wasn't sure which was better, but thought the golds might be helpful. Seems I won easily, so makes me wonder whether Soothsayer is actually much better than Witch, when Witch is a pretty good curser? Or was it just good shuffle luck- I seemed to play my Soothsayer more often than his Witch, probably due to my Warehouses and spying away his Witch at least once.

I agree, 4p games seem to take considerably longer; I personally prefer 3p.

I knew industrialisation was powerful, but this was ridiculous! I was definitely behind, but got industrialisation and managed to get lots of acheivements quickly to win. This makes me think, is industrialisation TOO powerful??

I've definitely lost that game, no military and basically nothing else useful
although I'm doing well on F.DS 44, where I also have Napoleon- I think I'm slightly Napoleon-obsessed at the moment on TTA!!

There are some things science points can't buy. For everything else, there's Alchemy and Journalism.
In fairness, this wouldn't have happened if I could count when colonising the Inhibited Territory

« on: June 24, 2013, 11:35:34 am »Mmm... that doesn't sound right to me. Biskupin says the strength bonus doesn't apply during aggressions, not -2 strength during aggressions. If you have 62+ strength, then during aggressions you should have 60 strength, and be capped.

I basically didn't play pro games for about 2-3 weeks, and declined from ~4500 to ~2500. Having played about 20 pro games in the last few days, winning ~13, I have somehow got rating up to ~5400.

I honestly thought that's what was going to happen in f.DS41. Joe built up military early and was ahead (in strength and culture) for most of the game. Somehow I got an opportunity to raid his 2x Movies early in age three though, and that was pretty much the end of it.
Was slightly disappointed to be doing well in military for so long, and then let it slip, raiding 2 movies was basically the end of my chances
On a random,, unconnected note, is it possible to produce less than 0 culture a turn? If you are producing 0 culture, and then play a pact where you produce 1 less culture per turn, do you now produce 0 or -1 culture?

35 silvers in 21 turns is pretty quick, was wondering how well this compares to Trader, which is generally considered the best Feodum enabler?
Seems like a pretty good way to score big points quickly, by using large overpayments.
Thoughts anyone?

Thanks for the games, they were definitely good, close games.
Game :1 I think we both had varying luck (good and bad), which made it close.
Game 2: my Duchy/Duke/Province strategy was definitely a bit messed up, so I deserved to lose- think the Estate/Squire thing didn't end up mattering (lost by 4, and only didn't take estates twice).
Game 3: Not sure why I bought Cartographers, I kind of felt I was behind at that stage and tried to do something different (and useful), duchies probably would have been better.
Nevertheless, good games, and good luck for the rest of the tournament.
