I honestly don't know. Intrigue probably. Maybe Seaside. Maybe .. no cards at all?

6952
Cause I actually have no idea what card I'll play tonight, all told.

Play the one I gave you!

On Robz?

This might be a record for me for pegging scum day 1. Wish we'd done the lynch then, wouldn't have had to waste an investigative ability.

Do we want to set claim what we're using tomorrow before the curtain falls?

6955
I'm gonna preemptively threaten a policy vote on anyone who claims defensiveness is a scumtell. I have no clue if Robz is town or not but man I hate that argument. Town don't like to get lynched either.

I've said this before, but basically scum defensiveness and town defensiveness feel different.

Town players don't want to get lynched at this point in the game, but if they do get lynched it's not terrible. It's a day 1 town lynch. Happens often enough, town often goes on to win it. The concern is with defending yourself as best you can so that the scum on your wagon have to resort to really bad arguments to get you lynched and will hopefully get caught in them tomorrow.

Scum players don't want to get lynched because it's really bad for their team if they get lynched day 1. Once town catches one scum, it's often much easier to fin the others. Scum wants the game state where none of them to have gotten caught to go on as long as possible.

Furthermore, and seperately, town defensiveness has a touch of indignation, because town have the very real feeling of being falsely accused. Being falsely accused and being rightly accused feel very different. THe defensiveness that springs out of them feels different. Try as you might to keep those emotions out of your play, they will shine through in subtle ways.

So I'm not saying defensiveness is scummy. I'm saying Robz's defensiveness reads scummy to me.

FWIW I'm not voting for Robz. I joke voted for him and unvoted in the same post.

6957
Robz is looking less and less townie to me.

Why? For defending my position on hedging--which I think is considerably well-reasoned, after 15+ games?

defending and defending and defending...

Frisk, I don't think picking two Scouts is a scum or town tell for Robz. It's null. And I totally believe he did it. I think if he could have drafted a hand of five Scouts, he would have.

Vote: Robz for an M.C. Escher-esque foray into self-meta that just made my head hurt.

Unvote.

To be fair, vanishing is what Abras do.

Threaten them with Bidoof if they don't make a decision.

We seem to be picking sides here, Robz vs. archetype. The most compelling thing on the Archetype side to me is Shraeye's argument here:

I don't see the hedging.  BUT what I do see is a player who is very concerned with who is suspicious of him, and who is arguing with him.  He's changing his actions to appease the people that are voting for him, AND at the same time, saying that one of them (ehunt) is scum.

Well, I never change what I'm doing at scum's request, and I very rarely change it for town's request as well.  Archetype too, in his first few games (RMM3, ZM3) would keep doing his thing even as people were attacking him.  The last time I recall Archetype doing things to appease others, was when he was mafia in ZM5, and I (a VT) demanded that he post or I'd vote for him.  He posted immediately and left me with a huge scumread which was correct.

In conclusion, I am suspicious of Archetype and would love for Frisk (his scummate from ZM5) to get in here and comment on Archetype's play thus far.

I'm really bad at remembering peoples' metas, but this rings true to me. Can someone else weigh in on whether shraeye's assessment is fair/accurate?

Also, we talked about vigging Morgrim yesterday. I absolutely would have used a self-protection ability if I were him.

6966
If it makes him everything immune (including nightkills), I absolutely would play it as town.

But pps played it and died, so that suddenly seems unlikely. I would say Morgrim looks scummy here. But not as scummy as Dsell.

6967
Well, the real secret chamber lets you discard cards for money. Maybe Morgrim ditched all his cards for some kind of benefit.

But it's more likely he was investigation immune.

Either way, that doesn't clear him as town at all.

whoa. long time no see, dude.

6969
So Frisk, both the people you spied on had 4 cards?

This bothers me because it's a little too easy. If Galz had a straight up alignment investigation, and you and I each had what amounts to a double-alignment investigation, that's way too many cops.  three cards vs four should be a scum tell, but it kind of seems like a glaring issue with the setup.

Thoughts?

I've decided to Morgrim my way through the Morgrim game. I will post very little, not read the thread, and vote for myself constantly.
