Rules Questions / Re: Landing Party / someone else's turn

Right, my bad.

Another example of playing a Treasure in another player's turn is when you get your Gold trashed with Barbarian, and you gain a Buried Treasure.

"It's not being discarded, it's being put into your discard pile"

Wow, this could really be argued that if something is put into the discard pile, it is being discarded.
When you gain a card, you put it to your discard pile as well, yet the card is not being "discarded", right?

And the rulebook for Scavenger says:
Quote from: Dark Ages rulebook
Putting your deck into your discard pile will not trigger Tunnel (from Hinterlands).

Landing Party says "turn", not "your turn", so it should work. However, Caravan Guard + Capitalism is a bad example, since Capitalism says "during your turns".

Ok, I think we've reversed it in Polish edition as well (I mean, to avoid ambiguity with what the "it" is - the revealed card, or its copy in play). But functionally it is the same.

The digital version of Sea Chart differs slightly:

"Put it into your hand if you have a copy of it in play."

That said, is there any consideration on making Treasures playable during the entirety of the Buy phase (kinda contradicting what I just said above)? This mattered pretty much never pre-Renaissance, but nowadays it feels kinda ugly.

The rule was introduced with Prosperity. Removing it would break Grand Market, and significantly alter Mint and Mandarin, maybe more.

Wait, this wasn't the rule before prosperity? Not that it would matter with just the base game treasures, but I thought that it was always the rule.

Nope. It didn't matter with any of the sets before Prosperity, and that's where it was introduced.

Wrong. In Alchemy.

Quote from: Alchemy rulebook
During the Buy phase, all Treasures are played before a player buys any cards, even if he has +Buys. A player may not play Treasures after Buying a card. This is important for Philosopher's Stone.

I was wondering, why does Royal Galley need "if you did," now that we have rule saying that a card can't be played if it's lost track of?

Royal Galley seems to be a Throne Room variant, rules-wise: it plays a card several times. There are two rules for TR variants:

When you play a Duration, leave the TR in play in Clean-up if the Duration is still in play. Doesn't matter here, since Royal Galley can't play Durations.

You can play the card twice, even if the TR loses track of it. (According to the new rule.) It seems this would be possible if Royal Galley didn't have the "if you did" clause. So that must be the answer.

Consider Embargo, Madman, Horse. There may be other cards that cannot be set aside (by Royal Galley) after they are played, because they move themselves.

What happens, when Highwayman and Enchantress are in play and someone plays Crown (or any Action card with +$ with Capitalism)?
Since you decide the order of execution of simultaneous effects, they may become "nothing" or "+1 card +1 action". That's my guess.

And what about Band of Misfits? Its German translation (Vogelfreie) contains „Wähle eine Aktionskarte aus dem Vorrat“ (“Choose one Action card from the supply”) and would be literally affected by Elder.
I do not think this will be the case. You see, "Action card from the Supply" is not an ability, and Elder refers to abilities.

Regarding the illustrations:

Either the Augurs are miscredited, or the Augurs randomizer is.

All Augurs have Hans Krill, but the randomizer has Julien Delval.

Hmm. Goatherd: "+1 Card per card the player to your right trashed on their last turn"

What if they trash the same card twice? What if you can't tell?

As far as I can tell, you cannot trash a card that is already trashed.
Or do you mean trashing a Fortress multiple times?

I mean, it does. It shows 5 horses, and also shows 3 more horses.
Maybe there are 5 horses and 3 mares. Or something.

Is Flag essentially the same as The River's Gift (+1 Card at the end of this turn), but worded differently (besides The River's Gift being one-shot)?

Yeah, that's too wordy. Let me take a crack at editing it.

Quote
If there is no cheaper card in the Supply, you still gain a Gold (if available) and vice versa. Cards costing just a Potion (from Dominion: Alchemy) or just Debt (from Dominion: Empires) do not cost $1 or more, so you gain no cards if you trash them. If you do not trash a card, you gain nothing.

Add one sentence about the cost maybe? Changeling has similar one.

That's why I wrote "just a Potion" (having Transmute and Vineyard in mind) and "just Debt" (having Engineer, City Quarter, Overlord, and Royal Blacksmith in mind).

Well that's not true either, Alchemist doesn't cost less (or more) than Duchy.
What is untrue in this statement "Cards costing just a Potion or just Debt do not cost $1 or more, so you gain no cards if you trash them." (in Dismantle context of course) - where "just X" means "no cost in coins, but in X only"?

I haven't spotted a FAQ for this card, so I made this myself:

Quote
First you trash a card from your hand, if you have any. If the trashed card has any on-trashed abilities (like Hunting Grounds from Dominion: Dark Ages), or you have an on-trash Reaction such as Market Square (from Dominion: Dark Ages), you resolve them now. Then you check the cost of the trashed card, applying any cost-reducing effects, like that of Bridge (from Dominion: Intrigue) or Highway (from Dominion: Hinterlands) - if the card costs $1 or more, you gain a cheaper card and a Gold. The gained cards must come from the Supply.

Too wordy?

Are the cards in this quiz sorted by cost, or are they just randomly thrown in?

Anyone has any idea where that info came from (copied from BGG's Dominion Nocturne entry):

"Dominion: Nocturne is the 11th expansion to Dominion. It has 500 cards, with 33 new Kingdom cards. There are Night cards, which are played after the Buy phase; Heirlooms that replace starting Coppers; Fate and Doom cards that give out Boons and Hexes; and a variety of extra cards that other cards can provide."

I know Jay said it's 500 cards, but what about the rest?

It's really hard to say. They have just (Summer 2016) reprinted their edition of Dominion, and released their edition of Intrigue at the same time, when the information about Second Editions popped up. They were surprised the same as we were. When I posted translated info about Second Editions on our boardgame forum on September 22th in the morning, a GFP employee responded that they did not know what's coming...

It's a pity that the crowdfunding campaign wasn't "delayed" by a year, we could've had an up-to-date product...

Who knew...

For sure it wasn't us. Seriously. We've just got an email regarding these this night.

When they were asked if they consider releasing at least the Update Packs in Polish, they responded, that if the price level will not be too high, then they will try. So, we will see. But I think, that when the time to reprint Dominion and Intrigue will come, they will update it to Second Edition.

We have yet to wait a little bit for Empires (like, a month), and we do not know their agenda for 2017, which is yet to be announced. When I write "we" - I mean the Polish players (I'm not a GFP employee, I'm their Dominion consultant :-) )

Well, I have just found this thread, shame on me.
I'm the one who uploaded Seaside names, and, since then, many other Polish card names. To back my actions, I'm providing links to Polish rulebooks released by the Polish publisher:

Dominion (Base)
Intrigue
Seaside
Prosperity
Empires

Empires is not released yet - it's announced for February 2017. Polish version of Sauna/Avanto is said to come with it (I mean not bundled, but released at the same time).

And here is rulebook for Cornucopia, released by the previous Polish publisher (Bard). I do not know whether GFP (current Polish publisher) will "refresh" Cornucopia with new cover art and a few corrections on cards. I tried to convince them; they did not say "no", but also did not say "yes". Will see.

Does anyone know whether the German version will contain metal tokens or cardboard ones?

The German rules PDF says "56 Siegpunktmarker aus Metall in 3 Wertigkeiten sowie 40 Schuldenmarker." Does that mean that VP tokens will be metal, and Debt tokens - cardboard? Or is it a misprint and all tokens will be made of the same material?
