I can't help but think of it as Koopa.  So maybe a man-turtle hybrid?

I will never see this card the same way ever again.

Embarrassingly often I put Duration cards in my discard pile with the rest of my actions during cleanup and completely forget about the bonus the following turn.

After further examination, the thing in the bottle has arms. It sits there grumpily, having its arms crossed. I first thought it was its chin, but it's not. So yeah, definitely an amphibian.
Aha. I see it now. I actually like it, but it is a bit strange.
It looks like some kind of Dino-Murloc-Frog thing to me. Probably one of my favourite art pieces in all of Dominion.

Played Death Grip (Lich King card that steals a minion from the opponent's deck.) and got a Weasel Tunneler that I had played earlier.

Dominion: Nocturne Previews / Re: Bonus Preview #5: Necromancer
« on: October 27, 2017, 03:06:33 pm »
The art is clearly a pasteup of several different layers, with no effort made to keep consistent lightning or even add shadows from one object to the other. (Just like Charm, from the same artist.)
Some examples:
Necromancer's feet (or any part of him, really) cast no shadow, despite the fact that he's holding a freaking light source twenty cm from his foot. This gives the disconnected feel to the image, and gives him a measure of "floatiness".

The zombie in Necromancer is also pasted on the floor image, and you need to look twice to realize that he's actually supposed to be bursting out of the floor. He casts no shadow on it, nor does the border of the hole cast a shadow on the zombie.

Necromancer's pose is completely disconnected to the scene. You're freaking summoning a zombie, while looking at something off screen and having a completely neutral pose. This smells heavily of recycled concept art.
Compare with the good art of Summon (from the same artist, even), for a scenic pose.

The freaking column doesn't cast a shadow either...

Apprentice seems completely off scale, and has completely different lightning than everything else in the scene.

The sky is dark in Spy, but everything else is incongrously lit by a sourceless light.

Mason should really cast a shadow. There isn't a single cast shadow in any of the four images.

This art is deeply sub-par. I wish RGG put stricter quality requirements on Dominion's artists. I'm actually tempted of dropping Jay an email.

Completely agree. I'm getting flashbacks about the awfulness of Charm, also by the same artist. Apparently Shadows don't exist.

Coming from a Baker Idiot, I really want Coin Tokens to make a comeback. I feel like there are a lot more possibilities for them than just the few cards in Guilds.

#1 could be Bridge/Crown.

I'm trying to figure out #4. Maybe Stonemason, Dungeon, or Tunnel?

Hearthstone / Re: Has anyone learned Hearthstone yet?

Achieved all 9 golden portraits. All that's left is to get the legendary card back and collect the entire classic set and then I will have learned Hearthstone.

Awesome job! The closest I am is 300 wins with hunter. Everything else is less than 100. Got a long way to go.

The first time I played with Saboteur, I thought the card gain was mandatory.

I really like the idea of the rules of the game being changed slightly. I think an edict that required the game to end on a three-pile would be interesting, or one that bans silver or gold from being bought. Not sure how fun that would be though. I'm looking forward to trying out some of these. It's so much easier to use these than fanmade supply cards.

Just out of curiosity, what is the most upvoted post on f.ds? I know A Drowned Kernel's Love Story has 102. I'm not sure if anything has topped that.

yeah, playing dominion online kills the game for casual offline purposes.

This is one of the main reasons I don't play Dominion Online very much. It feels really unfair when I play against people irl, and I'm not even that good.

Just in case you guys haven't heard yet. The year of the Mammoth is coming.

Several cards are being rotated to wild. This includes Azure Drake, Ragnaros the Firelord, Sylvanas Windrunner, Power Overwhelming, Ice Lance, and Conceal. If you have any of those cards, they are giving you the dust required to craft those cards. In other words, Blizzard's giving us a crapload of dust.

Man, there's not even a fake Emperor card?

Look no further.

Now I really want a Lord of the Rings Dominion.

The exception is Lemony Snicket – I like the style of narrating, but I really dislike him being this smug, well-dressed guy. It doesn't seem to fit at all.

Just close your eyes and imagine that it is Kronk.

This actually made me burst out laughing.

The highest I've reached was Rank 7 with token Hunter post-Karazhan. Currently I'm stuck at rank 9 with a similar deck. It's not a great time to be a Hunter right now.

T1 Possessed Villager.
Opponent passes

T2 Bilefin Tidehunter.
Opponent plays Wild Growth.

T3 Forbidden Ritual.
Opponent plays Twilight Elder.

T4 Sea Giant + Reliquiary Seeker.
Opponent concedes.

Another game playing Reno mage with Prince Malchezaar.

I play Brann on turn turn 3, followed by Barnes on turn 4. Barnes summons two 1/1 copies of The Beast.

Prosperity was my first expansion, and I would also say that is my favourite one. I really like the treasure theme and the strong expensive cards like King's Court, Goons, and Grand Market. I also like Bank, Venture, Vault, and Watchtower.

I love Cornucopia as well. Remake, Menagerie, and Jester are just fantastic. Yes, there are some duds, but the other cards are good enough to overshadow that. I don't mind the power level of tournament. Yesterday I played a game using mostly Cornucopia cards. It one one of the most fun games I have ever played.

The coin tokens in Guilds are interesting. Herald, Baker, Stonemason, and Doctor are the highlights for me.

I received Hinterlands and Seaside for Christmas. So far my family has been enjoying the Seaside the most, because of the Duration cards. They're still in the "Pirate Ship is broken" stage though. I haven't played with all of the cards yet, so I'm still deciding which set I enjoy more.

I don't own Intrigue, Alchemy, Dark Ages, Adventures, or Empires yet. I'll probably get Intrigue next, to keep down the complexity level for the sake of the people I normally play with.
