I GOT IT TO START A GAME!

...I think it's crashed halfway through, but I finally get to monkey around with the UI!  You don't seem to need an account to just start up a game with the AI.

It's not as horrible as I had feared, although it's not great either.

I have no doubt that they would've if they could've.

It's more than I was WANTING to pay, but not necessarily more than I'm WILLING to pay...if it works at some point.

It seems like every day I find myself behind a Grand Caravan, wondering if it gives 2 cards a turn and costs $5 with no copper or what.

As a cashier, I also see lots of Venture credit cards, which usually hit enough coin to make the target.

I HAVE this, but among my friends, "people who enjoy deckbuilders" and "people who won't make fun of me for playing a meido game" are two pretty small groups, and they don't overlap at all, so I don't know that I'll ever get to play if there's not some online version.  :-[

I don't think they will specifically refuse, but I think there will be quiiite a few potential customers lost from press releases that link to nothing.

I am simultaneously super curious and hyped and dreading it.

Much like their Dominion, really.

On the plus side, one of those articles has a screenshot of the interface, so I can at least see what I am (theoretically at some point) getting into!

Oh, he does?  I'll upgrade my snarky response to a "maybe lol" then.  That still requires info coming from goko.

This seems outside of Donald X's jurisdiction, so my guess for that question is "lol no"

But yeah, this whole Goko concept seems pretty cool if they can pull it off.

.....I wish I could have a bit more confidence in their ability to pull it off.

To think that all this time I've been cheating by playing Dominion with other people!

No wonder attacks tend to be so strong!

It's now the 16th on the east coast!  I have my fingers crossed that I'll get to play before bed, because I am quite curious.

After speculating briefly about a hinted card whose name rhymes with a card costing $2P more:

Zen Herd
$0 Victory
0 VP
When you buy or gain this, +$2.

This is the thing I am looking forward to most about Goko.

Goko Dominion Online / Re: Funsockets Payment Model
« on: August 13, 2012, 04:11:03 pm »
From what they've said, I'm hoping to pay not much more than $5 for each chunk.  I think $10 is where I start evaluating how much I really wanna continue playing.  I don't have much money to burn right now, though, so even if it's something like $3 I might not get everything off the bat.

I'd almost rather see a model where you can buy individual cards.  I am probably a minority, but given my limited cash flow and opinions, I'd rather pay, say, $2 each for cards X and Y than $5 for XYZ...even though I'm going to be compelled to come back later and pick up Z when I have more money and all the other cards. (please don't actually use that scale, Goko)  I get the cards I like sooner, and they get more of my money eventually!  I usually hate anything involving microtransactions but they could milk me for a good bit of extra money that way, and I could play fewer Pirate Ship games.

What I went for: GM/Develop/City
What he went for: Develop/Monument/City

Another one of those "I won but I feel it was suboptimal" games.  Part of my issue here is that I took too long to actually settle on a strategy.  Venture/FG seemed like a winner, but so did GM/Develop.  I WAS initially planning on running both until I realized that Venture and GM don't get along so well without a better trasher than Develop.  I also picked up a turn 2 WV for almost no reason at all, although I intended to push Monument harder than I did.  I had visions of Developing into GM, which is the main reason I got it over Silver, but never actually pulled it off.  I also wasn't sure what to do with FG- whether to try to hit it with Venture, Develop into Silver, hope to turn into Gold, use as a copper substitute for GM, or ignore it.  I wound up being all wishy-washy and only buying a couple, which didn't do me much good.  I was hoping Develop or FG would run out and activate my Cities, but eventually GM drained instead.  I was barely able to hold onto my lead, but it worked out somehow.

-Was GM a trap here?  I am pretty sure I over-value it, and this wasn't a GREAT board for it.
-Should I have gone Venture with this strategy?  Venture/FG is probably strong with good +Buy to be had, but it didn't seem worth it if I was going for GM....and Cities were bound to activate at least partially at some point.
-How do you like Develop here?  I usually ignore it, but with no other 3's and GM on the board, it seemed decent.  My opponent really liked them.
-What should have been my approach to FG?  Develop fodder?  GM fodder?  Venture combo?  Use the reaction?  Push harder?  Ignore even with $2?
-What's the best open for this strategy?  Pretty dang sure WV wasn't it.
-Would FG/WV have worked as an open if I had intended to rush FG?
-What should've been my Develop priority?  Kill the Copper?  Estate/FG -> Silver?  Silver -> Monument/FG?  4's -> Silver/City?  City -> GM?

This card is worth 1 VP for every copy of this card in your deck at the end of the game. (this copy included)

Good idea?  Bad idea?  Cost?  I think 5 sounds about right.  You need to take the lion's share to equal Provinces, and your opponent can pick up just three to stop you and they'd work as Duchies for them.
