General Discussion / Re: Winter
« on: November 27, 2012, 01:57:58 pm »
Winter is SOOO much better than Summer. Sitting by the fireplace all wrapped up with your honey watching the snow fall outside... It's paradise. Completely beats spending the day at the beach in the sun and suits (or, given preference, lack thereof).

If you have to heat your house, I think you'll find that summer >> winter by a large margin.

No pre abilities possible for me.

Weapon token.

@DSell -

Will you claim the order that you drafted your cards in?

1005
What's the point of asking that? Presumably if people shared your concerns, they would voice them. "Can I get away with continuing to make something out of nothing?" is what you're really asking.

Why would I want to do that?  I'm just surprised that no-one else is concerned about someone pressuring to lynch in < 24 hours.

I mean - this is so over the top scummy that I can't even believe that you'd do it - and you bussed me Day 1!

1006
Not doing anything.  Taking my licks like a man

1007
Frisk, I don't think picking two Scouts is a scum or town tell for Robz. It's null. And I totally believe he did it. I think if he could have drafted a hand of five Scouts, he would have.

I agree, except there's all the other factors. (Targets selected that had already claimed, trying to push for a dsell lynch before we've had a chance to talk, person to his left can only collaborate 1 scout)

I also built the shaky case on Dsell yesterday, so for me, it's like all my intuitions are about to be confirmed.

I actually think I prefer a DSell lynch today, but I just can't get past this "lets just lynch him and be done with it attitude"

Am I the only one who finds this concerning?

Oh, well Jesus Christ, Frisk. Yes, I have Scout + 3 other Cards. Why on earth is this hard to believe? I did not expect Card strength in this game to correlate to Card strength in real Dominion, really. Did you? I sort of just grabbed willy-nilly, and I thought that MAYBE Scout would be super good, as a sort of ode to my public campaign on the forum to have Scout recognized as the "best" Dominion card.

Language!

One scout, sure.  2?  Especially when you didn't reference having 2 at all when I questioned you.

1010
@DSell, how many cards did RobZ have to pick from when you passed him the scout?

1011
Frisk, I had a hand of 5 cards last night, so I don't know what you're talking about. I only have 4 unique Cards, though.

I am taking the results to indicate the cards remaining in your hand - based on the joth results as well.

I observed you to have 1 scount + 3 other cards.

So we either have to believe that you willingly chose scout twice (and one with your FIRST PICK)

or

Somehow another scout ended up in the discard pile and you're a lying scum who didn't play a card last night.

Neither scenario is especially compelling to me.

1012
I will also Vote: Robz for picking on Archetype.

ZM5 isn't a fair comparison, as we didn't need to do alot of theory stuff, but Archetype's post to me screams "not great at theory", not "scummy play".
What about which of Archetype's posts says "not great at theory" to you?

Overall, I don't think players should just start claiming if they have a PR or not. It just puts them on the Mafia's kill list.

I'll be travelling on business 12/3 - 12/7.  This means 0 posting during the day, and maybe if you're lucky some drunk posting from the hotel before bed / in the morning.

1015
Come on people, get two more in here.  Remember how exciting and fun it is?  Plus, this is the tiebreaker.

I've already won twice!

1016
Well, the real secret chamber lets you discard cards for money. Maybe Morgrim ditched all his cards for some kind of benefit.

But it's more likely he was investigation immune.

Either way, that doesn't clear him as town at all.

Why would you play this card as town?

PPS did it.

Only if we assume that secret chamber does what morgrim says it did.  We've already seen some cards cover other cards (sage / rats)

1017
The Morgrim case is strange, but it's hard to get conclusions out of it.

Yeah, this is the nature of morgrim that I was attempting to clear up.

1018
Ok, then I can reveal whom I targetted with my second Navigator. It was Robz. I saw that a Spy was played on him, so this makes CF believable too.
And @CF: Like I said. I saw that Dsell was targetted with a Scout. And Robz confirmed that, so I don't understand that why you can't believe that Robz might have 2 Scouts. Also it can be true that he received a Scout as his 5th card and therefore had no other choice.

The only thing we have so far is the joth vs. Dsell thing. I think we should kill Dsell and if he really should be town kill joth tomorrow.
The Morgrim case is strange, but it's hard to get conclusions out of it.

So if outpost does what you say it does, then it is strictly better than throne room?

Archetype has refused to clarify whether my result on morgrim is consistent with immunity / roleblocking.

Armored Bears.

If this is in a mocking tone then I approve

If its a serious OMG ARMOURED BEARS!!!! style post then i shall remove my +1

Isn't this another book for children like Potter?

Plus, the film was AWFUL!

"An interesting thing is that Pullman really seems to be anti-God in the story"
Like a reverse Narnia!

So, yes I was clearly mocking.

I read them, I enjoyed the first (if I recall correctly), but I felt that the following just got crazy.

I stuck with it because you gotta respect the reverse Narnia, and if it gets kids thinking, then great... but armored bears?

1022
So Frisk, both the people you spied on had 4 cards?

This bothers me because it's a little too easy. If Galz had a straight up alignment investigation, and you and I each had what amounts to a double-alignment investigation, that's way too many cops.  three cards vs four should be a scum tell, but it kind of seems like a glaring issue with the setup.

Thoughts?

So I spied on Morgrim and RobZ.  Morgrim to cross him off the list so that we wouldn't have to deal with that again day 2, and RobZ for the way he was pushing the Morgrim lynch.

RobZ (actually "target 2") had 4 cards in hand, one of them was scout.  I'm in no way convinced that he's telling the truth.  He could be "right" on what scout does (because he has it in hand), but because he waited to release the info, he just picked targets that he knew what they did.  Additionally, I feel that selecting the same card twice is poor play (why put all your eggs in one basket?).  The 4 cards in hand + the discarded scout that he claimed do fit with his set claimed hand.  I won't out them because I don't know that its pro town.

Morgrim (target 1) had 0 cards in hand.  His claim of "immune to all night actions" is somewhat plausible.  I would have expected to received a "no result" in that situation rather than "no cards in hand", but every mod does things differently.

If secret chamber was a redirecting role, I could believe that he redirected me to pingpongsam, who had no cards in hand because he was dead.... but this is a stretch as well.

None of these conspiracy theories explain why there is a scout in the discard pile... unless secret chamber discards cards from hand....

@eevee - we do not know that everyone is telling the truth.  Clearly Dsell is either lying, or someone lied about what their cards did.

1023
Straight Rollin.

1024
I'm not sure I believe robz, but there is a scout in the discard pile.  It had to get there somewhere, right?

Sad. That you'd be sure to believe me was much of the basis for picking it.

But you picked it twice!!

1025
I generally dont like getting in conflicts with others, yes. But since you guys call me scum for not voting (even after I explained why) I'll Vote: Robz

haha archetype you have such a spazzy meta

normally i'd vote a player over a post like this, but not you

while i'm making meta-arguments, i'm going to vote: eevee though, for this:

Archetype, your main motivation shouldn't be to please people. If you are town, almost one fourth of others are scum to you. Do you want to play in a way that makes you avoid conflicts with them?

Because Eevee Ike's to buddy?
