Something that would be ridiculous:
Opening is 3/4
T1: Buy Ferry, putting -2 cost token on Page
T2: Buy Travelling Fair 4 times, and buy 5 Pages, top-decking them all.
T3: Play all of the Pages, exchange for all of the Treasure Hunters.

This would lock the opponent out of the entire Page chain, unless the opponent was lucky enough to go first and play pages on their T3.

EDIT: Oops, thought Travelling Fair cost $1.

I'm working on something like this in combination with this.

You have no idea how high my expectations are of this.  No pressure though.

Your 4000th respect. You're welcome.

I always thought it would be fun to take random game logs and write a short novelization of them."
By keeping my Goons masqurading in the King's Court, I pinned my enemy down in the Copper Mines and the Cursed House.

With Ferry on the board, you can guarantee opening with a $5 action. Alms counters Swamp Hag and works with Mission or Ferry. Trade is on par with Trading Post in BM, because you can make use of those $5 hands, but Trade needs the $5 every use and can gain up to two silvers, while Trading Post gains the silver to your hand and happens during your action phase but becomes a dead card later in the game.

Reveal your hand. Reveal cards from your deck until you reveal four victory cards that aren't a duplicate of one in your hand. Put them into your hand and put the rest back on top of your deck in any order.

I played a game where I stacked most of my tokens on Lost City (it was also that one horrendous game where we played with ALL events), while my friend stacked his on Magpie. Since none of us contested Magpies, he pretty much had Labs that either became activated Menageries or Labs that gain more Labs. He won :(

That's what I was thinking.  It definitely seems like something that sounds good on paper, but just doesn't really work in practice.

So Philosopher's Stone is communist? :P

On a serious note, Philosopher's Stone is great when there is no good engine, ample +buy, and especially when there are junking attacks. I have gotten Philosopher's Stone to peak at $10 before. It is also one of the only two potion cards that you usually want more than one potion for (other is vineyards). Storeroom looks great with it.

When I buy a victory card/curse, and then reveal trader to put it back, Salvager still counts the card as "gained". It causes a disreprency between the actual score and the score salvager is reporting.

Picture attached.

and the link to the log (shows 196 curses as deck contents)

My own puzzle: In a 2 player game, how can you open Province/Tournament?

Edit: My solution states that the opponent goes first, buying Ferry and putting it on Grand Market.

Opponent plays three Coppers to buy Ferry on Lost City.
You play four Coppers to buy Tournament.
Opponent plays four Coppers and a Baker coin to buy Ball, gaining two Lost Cities. You shuffle and draw Tournament and a Copper.
You play Tournament and draw another Copper, then play five Coppers and a Baker coin and buy Borrow and a Province.

That works, but how about T1 Province and T2 Tournament?
You need them to open Lost City, so you can 6 Copper+Baker+Borrow for your Province.
Then, you Alms for your Tournament.

Correct!

Just wondering, what is the least number of turns needed to end the game? Possession, Outpost, Mission turns count.
