I still like my WW vote. Though I might be convinced on Awaclus. He feels off here.

I voted you because I wanted to see how you would respond to pressure.  I was hoping someone would follow and put you at L-1, really.  Hence, 'there's an easier way'.  But I didn't get so much from it, you're still pretty null.  Faust seems to have strengthened his town read, but I don't know if I trust Faust.

Vote: Awaclus

Why would you not trust me? Even if I'm scum, my reads would still be genuine.

I don't really want to lynch Roadrunner... do people really think he comes out scummy from all this?

Yes

Well, then I guess we have to disagree. I think his posting is very much townie.

Ben Carson ends campaign after disastrous primary results

Long-time frontrunner Ben Carson has announced that he would end his campaign to become president after bad primary results. Experts believe that his statements concerning the assassination attempt on former candidate Donald Trump have caused his bad performance.

Looking only at the past months' poll numbers, noone would have expected these results for Republican hopeful Ben Carson. After only receiving 1.6 percent of the otes in South Carolina's primary and a similar result in Nevada's caucus, he finished even behind outside candidates such as Mike Huckabee. As a result, Ben Carson suspended his campaign immediately.

Many observers believe that the bad results may be due to Carson's comment on the terrorist attack on Donald Trump last month. Carson stated that he was "disappointed" in Trump: in the opinion of the neurosurgeon, Trump is to blame for the deaths of two bystanders that were shot while the terrorists tried to kill Trump.

"If Trump had stepped forward and had assaulted the attackers immediately, fewer people would have been hurt", said Carson in a debate following the attack. His contenders have criticized Carson harshly for these words - Chris Christie for instance called the statement "despicable" - but Carson has not backed down. In a later interview, he even added: "In a way, what happened is fortunate. We all know now that Trump does not possess the courage it takes to become commander-in-chief."

Carson's demise opens the Republican field widely. With only days left before Super Tuesday, it remains completely unclear who will take the win.

XerxesPraelor has been lynched! He was Ben Carson, the Vanilla Townie!

Night 3 begins now and ends on October 30, 6 pm forum time. Night actions are due within 24 hours.

And I will vengekill whoever hammers without first posting intent.

Really? I mean, quickhammers aren't great, but it's not like there's anything to claim, so why do we need intent to hammer?

I want people's reads before the day is over. That gives a lot of information.

Well, I agree, but once we have those (I don't know, a Day before deadline?), can't we just hammer?

So, WW is either telling truth and hadn't read his PM (in which case he is exactly average lynch, so I'm ok with that considering D1 lynch statistics I did some time ago) or lying (and most likely scum)

Yes, I love his lynch very much now, need to consult vote count before voting though

I wanted to make this exact point.

And no, I don't know how old he is. But that really isn't a defense, it's an excuse. A good excuse maybe, but still.

Yeah... I feel like I can read RR, but he hasn't flipped in any game so far, so I might just be completely fooled. But at any rate, I don't want to lynch him today. I feel like partnerless!scum!newbie!RR is likely to slip up at some point, and he hasn't so far.

I tried to generate some confusion earlier, but it didn't work too well.

Trying to generate scum slips? Wait until he says he is scum in the thread? What kinds of slip do you require? Evolving personality within the game is normal for a new player, I will give him that. But I am suspicious of how that evolution is happening in this game, and think it is characteristic of newbie scum

Well, uh, I can't really dive into this without refencing ongoing games, so let's just leave it at that. I think there are posts that are much more likely to come from scum than from town.

Yeah, well, I don't think that's true at all (else we could just randomly vote). People act differently with different alignments, even if they do not have partners to act differently towards.

Well, I'm operating under the assumption that I'm town.  You are welcome to do the same :)

You do see where the problem is though, right? If I would do the same thing you do, you too would argue to lynch me (or at least for me to be a good candidate)?

I also don't believe that witherweaver hasn't looked at his PM.  Although, if he was going to do it, this would be the game to do it in.

No reason to lie about it.  Game started before I woke up and could confirm.  I got the alert but didn't read it.

Well... you not having read your PM basically makes me want to lynch you a lot, because if it is true, that means any interaction you have today is worthless and since you cannot know that you're town, your play will default to a bit more self-serving (and thus scummy) than that of a known townie.

You not reading your PM is self-serving and hurting our ability to scumhunt, and thus anti-town.

Since there are two scum teams, my motivation as scum would be the same as my motivation as town: to find the scum.  So I'm not really sure the difference in this case.

The difference is we can't really find scum!you if you don't know that you're scum. And, by the same token, we cannot find town!you.

So, what's the case on Awaclus?

Lynch him and find out.

That's a compelling case, but not as good as the one I made against RR

What about my case against WW?

Also, do you know how old RR is?

One way of finding scum is finding people who are looking for one scum out of 6 players, rather than two. The difference is more subtle than it usually is, but it's still there and it affects the way how people think and sometimes it shows even if you're trying to hide it. For instance, when I was playing (almost) this setup as scum in M67, I scumslipped here by trying to convince silverspawn that Seprix is scum without even appearing to consider the possibility that he could be Seprix's partner. Then I noticed it, and had to come up with an explanation why that was the case, and then I somehow got away with it.

Well... in that game, the setup wasn't known though, was it? You could guess there was only one other scum due to your role, but the others had no idea. That's different here... everyone is looking for 2 single scummers rather than a pair of them.

And just to get it on record - scum probably would scumhunt in this game, which makes it a little bit harder

so in this game. wagon analysis and stuff will be almost useless? I feel like it might turn into a game of chance to see if we catch scum as there isn't really any way to gain info I guess.

Well, you can still look for scummy behaviour, but it's hard.

The best way to catch scum here is to figure out who is not scum.
