So the card I was most excited about from Naxx finally came out... Reincarnate!  Here's the list I'm starting with, it's doing okay so far, although it certainly needs some more tweaks (I'm thinking about throwing Ragnaros in.  I also don't own Al'akir, although he'd probably have a place here.)  :

2x Earth Shock
2x Lightning Bolt
2x Rockbiter Weapon
2x Reincarnate
1x Bloodmage Thalnos
2x Flametongue Totem
2x Nerubian Egg
2x Feral Spirit
2x Hex
2x Lightning Storm
2x Unbound Elemental
1x Leeroy Jenkins
1x Senjin Shieldmasta
1x Doomhammer
2x Azure Drake
1x Cairne Bloodhoof
2x Fire Elemental
1x Sylvanas Windrunner

These heroic bosses seem way easier than the first batch were. The hardest part of this wing for me was the hunter challenge, which was very random.

Does anyone have a golden portrait?  I just hit 200 druids wins, and I feel like I've been playing constantly since it started counting.. getting 500 is insane.  I don't think I"ve even played 500 games since season 1, let alone get 500 wins.

Grujah, the zoo deck has been working wonders for me so.. 10-2 since I picked it up.  It's working way better than my old zoo list ever was/

i read an article  recently that broke downdecks along two axes...early game vs lategame and burst vs board control.  a deck like zoo is early game control, while face rogue is early game burst deck
Do you have a link? Sounds interesting

http://www.channelfireball.com/articles/pvs-playhouse-hearthstone-for-magic-players/

its an article written by a magic player fpr magic p'ayers, but theres probably still enough interesting stuff to make it worth reading even if you dont play magic

Yeah, I agree with blueblimp.
Zoo is solid, easy and fast to play, great for climbing.

This is what I hit legend with this month:
https://scontent-b-fra.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xap1/t1.0-9/10492220_612501905536293_9111214072566981136_n.jpg

So I've gone 2-4 with this deck (except 1 Squire replaced by Leper Gnome) at level 17.  Any thoughts on what I should be mulliganing or what the playstyle is here?

Your opener is really key, you want to mulligan into hands where you play a good 1 drop turn 1, or two good 1 drops if you have the coin.  Good 1 drops are all the minions other tha. Abusive seat gent isn't a good turn 1 play most of the time

Also, keep in mind that you're not a burn deck.  Board control is the name of the game.  Making good trades is better than dealing damage unless they are close to dead.

Side note:  why are zoo decks cutting shieldbearer now?

I'm having knee surgery tomorrow, and will be in the hospital recovering until Wednesday. This means I have a LOT of free time coming up, and I'm planning on playing lots of hearthstone to try and push for legendary.

The only problem is, I'm not sure what deck I've been playing. I have a ramp Druid and midrange shaman deck that are okay, but I'm not blown away by them.

Any of you have deck lists that are working out for you?  Card accessibility isn't an issue, since I have a decent amount of legendaries already and 5k dust in the bank.

1.  I would consider taking maexxna.  I haven't yet played with her in arena, but she seems good, and is a 6 drop.

2. Jungle panther.

7 silvermoon guardian

8 silvermoon guardian

15. Unsure, depends on curve at that point, but I strongly consider dire wolf.. It's a good card in paladin.

25 I think I like blessing of might more, in general

26 how many 4 drops did you have?  A lot, probably, but the power drop off to wisdom is so big I can't imagine taking it. It's not like wisdom is a turn 1 play

So I tried drafting poison seeds, because the pack was weak and I was curious about it. It was absolutely terrible. I never wanted to play it, it sat in my hand useless every game I drew it. I played it once, and at best it was not horrible.

I just finished all of the bosses on heroic... the last boss was the most fun, the deck I beat him with was pretty goofy.
Yep, last heroic boss was the most fun because her power is so weird. At first I tried to build a deck stuffed with charge minions, but it really doesn't work because she kills you before you can burn down her 45HP. Eventually I settled on a low-curve Shaman deck, because getting your totems bounced to hand is OK. MC Tech was a star as well, grabbing some great cards.

I played a priest deck stuffed with cheap battlecry minions.  Elven Archer, Voodoo Doctor, Ironbeak Owl, Mad Bomber, and Mind Control Tech were all downright amazing.  Throw in some shadow word deaths and big game hunters for giants, novas for board wipes, cabal shadow priest and shadow madness for stealing fun, and it's a good matchup.

If you beat every single boss, from all 5 wings, you get a card back.

I also can't craft a Golden Maexxa.  Not that I really want to, but the options not there for me, and I'm not sure why.

I've done the 3 main ones, the class ones and one heroic. The heroic ones are insane. Opoonents have 45hp. First guy's power now summons 4/4's, and some his cards are better. The second one's power now costs 1mana and those acolytes are now 3/4's and give 3 attack to the hero. The third one has a 0 mana, return two minions to your opponent's hand, and starts with 2 haunted spiders. Second boss still easy is beaten by zoolock. The first one I'm told fell to Handlock, and the third I think will be weakest agaisnt Freeze mage.

Also, my impressions of the new cards are that Egg is the most useful. Haunted spider I can see maybe putting in an aggro paladin deck, but I don't think it's very valuable. The Battlecries cost more one seems fairly weak. I mean, what are you trying to counter with it? Chances are you have battlecry minions too, because they are some of the best ones (argus, SSC, Fire Elemental). Maexanna seems ok, but at 6 mana it better be killing Yetis and Drakes. If it's killing anything with 8 attack then it's no better than Cobra. I guess if you can buff it I guess it's great. Haven't tried it out yet though.

The battlecry is a good effect against freeze mage... cast it the turn they were planning on casting Alexstraza, and they suddenly cannot anymore.  I don't think it's nearly good enough, though.

I don't know about you guys, but the adventures were are super laggy for me right now. Like, there's 10 seconds between each move. Maybe there's too much traffic? I'll have to come back to this later.

Yeah, same for me... I'm sure it's from the traffic.

If you mindgames a druid of the claw, do you get a 4/4 without charge?  What if you then brewmaster it?

I would've definitely taken Fen Creeper over Guardian of Kings, Humility over Blessing of Might, Azure drake over Holy Wrath.

I'm unsure if I start off with Defender or Drake.. both are extremely, extremely good.  I may lean drake just because paladin tends to get clogged up with lots of 4 drops.

The deck looks very good.

I'd be very interested to see how this turns out.

I went 4-3.  One of the losses was exactly what I expected to have happen in my losses:  I didn't draw enough relevant cards early, my opponent did a good job of playing around unleash, and I just didn't have enough to come back.

One loss was extremely, extremely flukey.  I was on the play and actually had a good curve.  Turn 2 crocolisk, turn 3 animal companion, turn 4 houndmaster, turn 5 houndmaster.  However, my opponents play were:  turn 4 innervate Black Knight, turn 5 coin black knight.  It was still a close game after that, but getting double black knighted is brutal.

I also lost to a druid who played 4 swipes.  Swipes are good against hunter.

I probably could've drafted it better.  I passed up good 2 drops for cards like Unleash, Hunters mark, when I really should've taken the 2 drops... but making the best deck wasn't really the goal here, I went all out for the combos after I saw leeroy.. don't regret making that choice even if I potentially gave up a few wins.

I always get frustrated when I face hunter combos.. either they don't have it and the decks or bad, and they do and they're unbeatable.  I thought I'd have a try playing a constructed deck in arena.

Yep, because it's still the same card, which you can tell because it has the same art.

There's other weird rules things too - if I remember right, a minion played into Repentance will have its max health changed to 1, but a minion revived by Redemption will have the same max health. So, Amani Berzerker into Repentance = 2/1, revived by Redemption = 5/1 because of Enrage.

Redemption and Repentance are worded that way though. Redemption says "revive with 1 Health" and repentance says "Change the health to 1". It is confusing but I think those ones are actually worded correctly.

It's very vague because health refers to both max hp and current hp.  Taken individually, both are correct, but it's a little bit odd that the same term is used to refer to two different things.

98
The rule is very simple, once you're through past the last defender and he fouls you, it's red.

Do you have a link to an official ruling regarding this? I am sure I thought this before, and then was refuted by the TV or someone with higher knowledge than me saying that "last defender" actually counts the goalkeeper.

From the laws of the game:

"A player, substitute or substituted player is sent off if he commits any of the following seven offences... denying an obvious goalscoring opportunity to an opponent moving towards the player’s goal by an offence punishable by a free kick or a penalty kick."

This raises the question... what is an obvious goalscoring opportunity?  The laws are vague, giving a lot of the decision making to referees.

"Referees should consider the following circumstances when deciding whether to send off a player for denying a goal or an obvious goalscoring opportunity:
• the distance between the offence and the goal
• the likelihood of keeping or gaining control of the ball
• the direction of the play
• the location and number of defenders
• the offence which denies an opponent an obvious goalscoring opportunity may be an offence that incurs a direct free kick or an indirect free kick "

So we can't actually figure it out from the laws.. we have to look at actual in game examples to see how the referees have been instructed to apply the law.

If an obvious goalscoring opportunity only occurred when a goalkeeper was beat, we would hardly ever see non-goalkeepers sent off for denying such an opportunity.  There are rare cases that would happen (Luis Suarez at the 2010 world cup), but 99.9% of fouls committed by non-goalies occur in front of the goalie.  But field players are regularly sent off for professional fouls with the goalie behind them... I can't site the rulebook here as it's vague on the issue, but I can just tell you that's my experience from watching a decent amount of soccer.  100%.

The link pacovf provided states that "not more than one defender between the foul and the goal," and I agree that the rule is enforced that way.  99.9% percent of the time, that one player is the goalie, so it's almost always a question of, "Is the player committing the foul the last non-goalie defender."

99
It should not have been a direct red card because there was still the goalkeeper. Its only red card for last resort is there is no opposing player between the ball and the goal line.

I'm almost certain that this just isn't true.  Players get red cards for "denying a clear goal scoring opportunity", and that's what happened here.

The Dutch had a handball in the box in the second half that should have been a red but was not called, so I suppose that evened out.

I wasn't able to watch the game... was it a deliberate handball?  If not, then it's not a red card.
