Dominion General Discussion / Re: How to Win Less...

I bet my advice on how to win would ultimately lead to you losing more. At least, when it comes to Dominion.
If I didn't have fun in games where I lost, I would have never bought 10 boxes full of Dominion cards.Do you find it poor manners to be denied an undo? There are situations where it is an obvious mistake, such as pressing the end turn button instead of the end actions button.
I have gotten back into the game recently since I left at the end of the iso days. I haven't had problems with impolite players on .games until today when I had two players who refused undos. I am fully aware that I might be the asshole by blocking those people, but I'm not aware of the conventions. Is that not an asshole move to refuse a quick undo? I'm happy to follow the norms of the community, no matter how cutthroat it is or not, but I want to know how people stand on refusing an undo. Am I doing these players wrong by resigning and blocking them? Is it normal to refuse an undo and still be someone people want to play with?
I can see games where I grant Undo even with them gleaming knowledge. Some of the best and most fun games I've played were ones where I lost.
Thursdays release will have Nocturne fully implemented
They can't all be the best 5p solo gamesHuh. I routinely play Dominion with unsleeved cards, food, drink and cats. That's an interesting way to play a 5p solo game ...
I guess I was figuring the starting deck would be EEECCCCCCP, and like Shelters or Heirlooms the Potion would not be a supply pile. Now your opening hands can get those Potion cost cards without worrying about missing that shuffle. You don't pay the opportunity cost on a Buy, but you are stuck with it unless you trash it. I'm going to try it next time Potion cards come up, just because I want to see how much it affects those first few turns.I wonder how broken it would be to replace a Copper with a Potion if Alchemy cards are out? You aren't at risk of missing the shuffle that way.
Pretty bad/broken/awful.
1) It kills the potion mechanic (potion is an opportunity cost, the strength of the potion cards revolve around having to invest into potion first, otherwise they'd be super strong)
2) Sometimes you want Potions late, and it's irritating why you would have to start with them in those games (aka vineyard, golem, posssession)
3) Hitting 3 Potion is already annoying on the second shuffle, but imagine one player getting a Familiar and one player getting nothing instead.
I know when my girlfriend says "nothing" that a whole lot of something is about to be discussed. You know, technically this thread isn't about nothing. I mean, we wouldn't spend 3 pages arguing about what the word "nothing" means, right guys?
Please start a thread about "nothing". Not about nothing, because that's what this thread is. Try not to be ambiguous.
Using the first post, I came up with average values:A Warlock would give out 1.266 curses when you played it.
I figure he would do equal work, but would cost 6.33 coins.
This is pretty much why I don't play online. There's no way you would enjoy playing a game against me.Part of playing dominion is losing (Yes, that includes watching other players have good turns).
No, it includes admitting defeat by resigning. In any kind of contest you should be a gracious loser. Finish what you started. You shouldn't just quit whenever you feel like it.
Resigning isn't quitting. The moment I resign, the game is finished, and I'm the loser.Unless you're playing solitaire.
No, I don't like playing solitaire and that's why I prefer for my opponent to resign as soon as they have no chance of winning so that we can start a new game instead of having me play solitaire for a while, and I return the favor when I have no chance of winning.
I just tried that and I had a hard time holding my fingers correctly to get above 15.Until I played online, I could count the number of times I trashed to an opponent's Bishop on one hand.
So 31 times?
And a Wish is pretty sweet, I tell you hwat.
So Moat doesn't have a reaction on some boards?
