Lighthouse gives a coin this turn and the next. Guardian gives a coin only on the next turn.

Ah, so it does. I had forgotten. So it's an almost strictly worse version of a card I rarely use. Okay then.

Guardian is a Lighthouse you can't ever draw dead. It seems almost strictly better, except for cards that care about if something is an Action.

Not that anyone was clamoring for a strictly better Lighthouse, I guess.

Brackets are the wrong format for this sort of thing and I refuse to take part in any quality ranking that uses a bracket inappropriately.

My wife’s birthday.

My wife's birthday is the day after my birthday, plus she makes a bigger deal out of it than any other adult I've ever met. I'd have to try to forget it and even then, I doubt I could.

I thought the anti-synergy was when you try to buy one and accidentally buy the other.

Oh hey, I must have typo'd a lot in my post. I accidentally wrote Mine when I meant Mint and vice versa. Isn't it funny how often you confuse the two?  :P

("accidentally")

I like Minte!

What's your favorite card? Mint is mine.

"Won't you take me to...Shanty Town."

I sing that every time.

I find the art for Zombie Mason hilarious. He is just carrying materials and all the humans around are totally chill and ignoring the walking corpse amongst them

They're professionals, and so is he. Besides, it's touching that they aren't anti-undead like so many others.

Potion makes a reappearance!

As card art, but still.

85
Yeah, Donald asked for surreal art for the Hexes. Some ended up more surreal than others.
We've had the Puerto Rico and Carcassonne homages in Dominion already; maybe it was Dixit's turn?

That's perfect. It is totally a Dixit card.

Glad I'm not the only one who thought that.

86
My play group will humor me and play with mine sometimes

But that's in the base set . . .

This dog reminds me of Hachikō, that loyal Japanese dog who kept going to the train station every day, even after the death of his master.

And, by extension, Seymour.

88
I have not found Night to be overly confusing for casual players. It's as easy as A B N C!

Don't forget the Start of the turn, for reserve cards and the like.

It’s really quite simple: manufacturing tooling costs a lot of money. Stocking multiple different kinds of parts costs a lot of money, too. It’s just way cheaper to use the same stuff across multiple sets, by like a lot. It’s just the economies of scale and mass production.

And that is the reason that drive-thru ATMs have Braille buttons.

90
Would that make Cape a specific category of card, the way Trasher and Village Splitter Bunch-of-Actions-Thingy are?

I had a dream the other night that it had already been released, does that count?

Dominion General Discussion / Re: Playing with Black Market for Real
« on: September 18, 2017, 09:23:56 am »
i don't own it, but why don't you use the blue-backs, and then as you pull a card, grab one of the standard backs for that card? then you only have to grab the cards you use.

That's what I did. Haven't used Black Market in a long time. (Don't actually have it, but I've divided up my blank cards to use as proxies.)

Whenever I play against my wife, I feel really guilty when I put together a big turn. I don't she means to make me feel bad, but it happens. Doesn't usually stop me though.

that moment when I read about how good players will trash their starting deck and easily beat anyone who doesn't do such was an amazing and great moment in my personal Dominion history.

I feel like every player comes to that realization in a different way. For me, it was Salvager.

Another RL example: I bought a Harbinger. I played the Harbinger 4 times. Every time I did, it was with an empty discard pile.

Had I just bought a silver there instead, I would have won instead of losing by a point.

October 2012, some friends from church invited my wife and me over to play and we were instantly hooked.

Every time I've ever played a Treasure Map kingdom, one of two things would happen:

1. I ignore it, my opponent goes for it, and they crush me.

2. I try to get it, but fail, and fall behind as a result.

Last night, thanks to Baker, I went for it and they collided on Turn 4!

. . . which just made them easier pickings for Noble Brigand, and I lost anyways.

99
Another minor one: played a game where I kept drawing my Settlers and Bustling Villages right after reshuffles, but luckily I had Oasis and Warehouse to help out.

100
Played a game where City Quarter and Scheme came in handy. I'd Scheme 2 City Quarters, then at the start of my turn I'd get the Schemes back along with pretty much everything else. I'd actually end my turn once I had my 2 Golds and a Silver - the downside of playing IRL is that when you have a cranky 2 month old and an annoyed wife, you don't always want to do as much as you can.
