Never occurred to me to anticipate this sort of ending.

I'm sorry that I had some nice luck and you accidentally activated cities for me, shortening the game significantly.

That's really not a great board for buying pirate ships. Bazaars, conspirators, cities, bridges and oases should make for a very action heavy deck. Having someone pick your coppers out for you can only make it faster.

lol--very nice.

With enough highways you could also do things like remodel/develop/remake your coppers into provinces.

I'm so sorry that you didn't realize that buying torturers was a REALLY bad idea on this particular board. If those pesky chapels and cities weren't there I'm sure it would have been a fine strategy.

Dear Zarathustra,

sorry I hit one of your provinces on the last turn with my swindler to give me the win.

Crossroads-Torturer  is a nice combo.

Dominion Isotropic / Weird unintended purchase bug
« on: October 02, 2011, 02:28:43 pm »
This was the first time I've encountered any sort of bug on isotropic.  On turns 10 and 11 of this game when I clicked on my money button the game bought duchies for me automatically. Since it was a colony/plat game the duchies were pretty far away from my cards in play, so I'm sure I didn't click on them by accident.

Puzzles and Challenges / Re: All the peddlers
« on: June 28, 2011, 09:27:10 pm »
A slight variation on some of the above solutions, for 20 Peddlers on turn 5:

Talisman/Chancellor
Chancellor + Talisman, buy Talisman, gain Talisman
Chancellor + 3xTalisman, buy WV, gain 3xWV
WVx4, play 3xTalisman, buy 5 Peddlers, gain 15 Peddlers.

I don't actually try talisman all that much. Does that actually work?

Puzzles and Challenges / Re: Going infinite

For a 2-p game this would require allowing never allowing stacks to deplete. The simplest solution for defeating this endeavor would be for the opponent to buy out all of one 2 cost stack, of which estates are always in play, followed by all of the copper and curses. Thus the only way to actually accomplish it would be to find a way to prevent your opponent from buying all of the estates, or to keep your opponent from playing at all. Can't imagine any scenario where that could happen.

A more interesting puzzle would be to see how many points could theoretically be gained by one player in a two player game before it ended. You would have to assume cooperation on the part of p-2, or a rule where he could only spend, at most, 2 coins per turn.

Solitaire?  With multiple players?  Between multiple players?

I guess I was thinking solitaire, but feel free to explore multiple paths.

What would be the fewest number of turns required to buy all the peddlers in a game?
(I haven't tried to work this out myself, I just have been wondering about it)

I'm kinda proud of myself for this one. Labs and Islands rule the day.

Dominion General Discussion / Achievement Unlocked

Just got an "achievement" for winning a game without any green cards. Wondering if achievements are a new feature and how many there might be.
