Recently I've been trying to take more control of the game using better deck/engine control.  This board had no +buy but I built a good Lab engine with Explorer for $$.  Opponent went PIRATE SHIP and somehow won.  Thoughts?

I guess I should have chosen golds over Duchies for some of the Provence hits but I dont think it would make much difference.  I ended with 0 cards above 3.

Not sure how i got crushed so badly here.  I should have opened conspirator instead of bridge.  probably should have picked up more hamlets too.  I usually have a good sense of how and why I lost a game but this one, i dont.

I like wharf/BM here with trader.  The best part of trader is to draw it dead and turn your extra buys into silver.

Given you are both rushing IGG, i think the best support is anything with a +buy which will help in winning the 3rd pile (estates or duchies probably). A simple woodcutter works well here.
