In order to get this achievement do you have to purchase multiple copies of that same action, or will just one work? I played a game the other day where I only purchased one Chapel and then just went BM-Venture and it didn't show up on councilroom. Just curious.

I think it's just because the server or whatever can only hold so many people playing at once, so if you won a game and just sat there without leaving, you would potentially be preventing someone else from signing on.

-How good is followers once curses are exhausted? I got it after Steed, but I'm not sure that was right, and think Bag of Gold might have been better to ensure I kept getting provinces.

I'm not sure that Followers is a mistake at this point, but I think Bag of Gold or Princess would've been more beneficial. He had so many terminal actions that it seems like he would have trouble getting to 8 regardless of the reduction in hand size. I'm always looking for the +buy option personally, so I probably would've gone with the princess, although it probably wouldn't have mattered too much in this game as you probably weren't going to be getting double provinces very often.

Maybe a better question is:  with HP and Mountebank on the board, when do you buy a Mountebank?  (compared to when you start/continue buying HP's)

Personally I would always buy Mountebank before the Hunting Parties. As you said, it guarantees you +2 which would give you a better chance of getting to 5 in a subsequent turn. And I would just be afraid that if my opponent goes Mountebank before me, my deck will start to accumulate the extra coppers/curses before I have a chance to hit him. Once I have my Mountebank I'm free to binge on the HPs.

That's really cool! I have trouble with figuring out the best times to purchase Quarries (especially double Quarry) but this is a really creative way to use them.

You mentioned turning a familiar into a possession, this is doable? I'm always unclear on the rules regarding trashing/remodeling/etc cards with potion costs. But I suppose since the familiar included a potion in the cost, it can be upgraded to the possession?

I played a game the other day where I went for provinces right off the bat because it involved Hoard and there were also Great Halls. I don't know that it was necessarily the correct strategy but it seemed to work in this instance. I will certainly admit though that pretty much every time I have a Hoard in my hand, I'm going to buy a Victory card and I'm sure there are some more experienced players that wouldn't necessarily suggest doing this. But getting a gold with a Great Hall seems like a pretty sweet deal to me.

Edit: Although now that I look at it, I only bought one of my four Great Halls with a Hoard, so that part did not pay off as it could have...

Hey everyone, been playing for a couple months now after a friend got me and my wife hooked on it. Definitely enjoy playing online but I was curious if there is any published list of places to play in person. I see mention of gaming clubs and such throughout the forum but didn't see any structured post about this on the FAQs.

Figured I would plan ahead in case I don't really like the new online platform or in case I'm too cheap to pay.

And specifically I'm looking for people in the Philadelphia metro area. Thanks!

The only one I'm not surprised about is Seaside, as I've always loved these cards. Very surprised that my Alchemy is so high, but when there are certain cards on the table I'm pretty much guaranteed to grab them. And apparently I never focused on the base set as much as I should've...
