Well, I've seen worse derailings. :>
Putting my differences with the system in place aside, I have to admit I think it's pretty accurate just by looking at the top 25 or so players.I am 32 in the pro leaderboard and I am pretty sure I do not deserve it.
I see a lot of names that were also on top on the Iso leaderboard, so if you're a good player, you'll get an appropriate high rating in the end.
I'm even proud that I'm in the top 25 (~6200) given how little games I play, maybe 5 per day maximum, so it seems with this rating system there is less focus on uncertainty. And I don't even have any cards, full-leech-mode!
What I take away from it is this: I think I can hold my own and play competitively against anyone on the list and that's all that matters for me. I don't need to be on top, but I like to be good enough that I don't feel overwhelmed by anybody up there. It's a bit sad though that there are many kingdoms with blatant dominant strategies or, more likely, sub-strategies like: be the first to get or do X, making shuffle luck a big factor in those games. However, the randomness is also a feature, making it able to pull of some crazy comebacks.
I don't know how 4ks and 5ks feel about the system though.
Procession, Throne, King's court, Golem, Scheme, and Graverobber can fail in kingdoms with only treasures and victory cards.Village, Fortress, Walled Village and Quarry too.
I think Transmute for $4 would be an awesome card. How about leaving it at the $0/P cost and adding the line "In games using this, when you gain a Potion, you may gain a Transmute."?
If Goko wants to encourage more people to buy the cards, they should make it a top priority to change the lobby / matchmaking system to add more incentive to buy them.I am sure they are well aware that they need a matchmaking system.
Why no Contraband?Venture will put Contraband into autoplay, which is kind of bad. Especially because the probability increases with more Ventures. This leads to the situation where the chance of being able to double Colony (and even single Colony) decreases when the amount of treasures in your hand and in play increases, which is kind of terrible on a board with only treasures. :-Þ
It's a gold with a +buy on a board with options like this. Block gold and I could still buy Platinum, Venture, Bank, Province, Colony, etc.
I think I would do:
Loan/Loan
If I get lucky and hit $5 grab a Contraband. Otherwise a Silver to get to Contraband fast.
Then a Counterfit. (Which you eventually use to kill you Contraband)
Then Venture/Bank/Plat in a super thin deck. (The cycling from the loans get you there quick)
You should be able to double Colony at least once. Single Colony a bunch. Double Province by the end.
Well, it might still be better than scout and in the worst case it is 'draw the best card of your next four' and in the best case it is 'seed yourself with three cards you want next turn or do not need this turn (like that scout you want to chain :p) and follow up with a terminal'.Or what about:What about a reverse Warehouse or Courtyard-like seeder card? :>
+1 Action
Look at the top 4 cards of your deck. Put them back in any order.
+1 Card
That actually fits with the name a little better, and I think might be an okay card, even at $4. But maybe too similar to Cartographer?
+1 Action
+4 cards
Put 2 cards from your hand on top of your deck.
edit: 3 cards, not 2. I suck at typing numbers. :-þ
Unfortunately, this kind of non-terminal Courtyard isn't a good idea in practice. Often you'd be chaining them, and it gets really tiresome repeatedly putting back cards that you immediately draw with your next copy. I know this from experience.
That would be pretty amazing - that's a lab with a bonus. That was a typo. It should be 'put 3 from your hand on top of your deck'. As I said, sort of like some reverse Warehouse.

I'd like to second that. It is kind of annoying that goko only uses about a third of the available space on a 1080p display.Problem is, it's fine to say make the icons smaller when you are playing on a 22" widescreen monitor (like I do at home) but maybe not so fine when you are playing on an iPhone. I can see where making the icons smaller to fit more on could make the iPhone version unplayable.
Use pages where necessary. Use pages on the iPhone. But it's kind of ridiculous to force the same layout on every machine. When you have a larger screen, why not make use of the extra real estate?
For mobile devices, they could save room by offering a no-images option. Androminion got by just fine with a single screen, AND it includes a log.
And for a quick example:As a matter of fact, you actually must select the Market for the second play of Throne Room 2 if you did not drew any other actions, even if you don't want to because it might trigger a reshuffle or whatever, as there is no may-clause on Throne Room.
Your hand is Throne Room, Throne Room, Smithy, Copper, Copper. You play Throne Room 1, selecting Throne Room 2. The first time you play Throne Room 2 you select Smithy, drawing 6 cards. Lets say one of these cards is Market. You may now select the Market for the second play of Throne Room 2.
