It's seriously just a who you know when factor. I didn't get selected or anything (why would Donald trust someone with new cards who doesn't even have the old ones?), I was just in the right place at the right time. I still haven't seen all the cards either.

I finally too now have an Adventures of my own. My 7 year old son and I played 2 games using all Adventures cards. Here are some things I noticed right away.
1. Traveler cards. They can be really strong! In the first game there wasn't a village present, so a BM strategy seemed to be the way to go. However, I really wanted to try out teacher, especially with a magpie and using a +action token on it. My son kept buying pages and gaining a ton of silvers with treasure hunter and drawing them with warriors. His strategy ended up beating my slower strategy 33-32.
2. Behold the power of treasure trove. Not much to say here, I went for fun interesting cards and my son went for the dagger(treasure trove). I got 2 provinces and he got 6. Ouch!
All in all, I think Adventures is the best expansion yet. So many options out there. We had a blast.

« on: December 09, 2015, 05:05:50 pm »That's probably the main problem then. Ignoring sea hag when your opponent does not, is basically game over, especially when there isn't any viable trashing.
So I tried this, and it doesn't really work. If you have a starting hand of something like sage/sage/sage/copper/estate and the only thing that sages can draw is sea hag and other sages, then you will end with a hand of sea hag/copper/estate and you won't be able to buy anything. Flooding your deck with sages is just as terrible as it sounds. Even on a big money board, your opponent will be able to get one or two provinces and then spike some duchies, so you need to get duchies also to compete. But as soon as you get duchies, your sages will draw them. Yuck.
The only way this strategy is ever going to work is if your opponent ignores sea hag AND trashing. IE: you can beat the MF bots with this, sometimes, in about 30 turns.
It's possible that I got lucky to hit 3 enough times to make it work out. I have done it against several opponents and they had ignored Sea Hag initially until they had already been hit 4 or 5 times in a row.

I'm feeling hopeful that they will have the Adventures cards available by mid February. Getting a tablet version took a long time to get everything worked out and now I think Adventures will be up and running before we know it. And no, I don't drink the Making Fun kool-aid.

And I doubt we we will ever get adventures for that matterAccording to Making Fun's most recent update(45.29), their main focus will be on the Adventures expansion now that the tablet thing is a go.
