Trader + rats would seem to be a strong combo.  You'd clear the silver pile rather quickly.

Dominion: Dark Ages Previews / Emptyng piles with DA
« on: August 21, 2012, 12:37:09 pm »
I can think of a combo that lets you empty a pile in one turn with these new cards and watchtower.

Rat rat fortress watchtower - rat gnaws on fortress, new rat on deck, repeat

Getting four cards to line up in your hand is tough, so this wouldn't happen often.

Anybody else have a pile emptying combo?

I can see Beggar being a great card when Gardens and/or Dukes are out.  Copper and silver is all you need to get to 4 or 5.

Beggar + Trader is a great combo as well.

Beggar could also help feed your rats when vineyard is in play.

King's Court + Scavenger is fun.  King's Court + Chancellor is less fun.

Rules question:  when you use a trash for benefit on a card that has a benefit when trashed,  which benefit happens first?

Eg: your hand contains a rat, a remodel, and a watch tower.  You remodel the rat into a gold and reveal the watch tower to put it on your deck.  Do you get the +1 card for trashing the rat before or after gaining the gold?

Imagine if shelters was an action that read "place this shelter on a pile in the supply.  It must be gained before gaining any cards beneath it." with a cost of 2.

The implication would be tremendous, although games may never end.

With Inn you could be running a Gardens/feoda mega deck and end up drawing all of it in one mega turn.

If s is your starting hand size and n is the number of madmen you've played, your handsize is:
(s-2)*2^n + 2

For example, 5 cards + no madmen=(5-2)*2^0 +2=5
5 cards + 4 madmen = (5-2)*2^4+2=50
