Dominion Isotropic / Re: Decline of civility on isotropic?

Avoid 22/7

I played a game with him today & around turn 7 he started asking me to play faster (I'm not the fastest player out there, but I've only had one other complaint about speed & that was during a scrying pool game).  A few turns later he just starting cussing at me with all the sophistication of a 12 year old.

Shortly he resigned by becoming unresponsive.  I glanced at his game history and a significant % of his games end with " 22/7 resigns from the game (client disconnected or unresponsive)."  I wonder why these people even bother ..

Dominion General Discussion / Re: [spoiler] Full Hinterlands card list

HP/Tunnel is clever, but without trashing it's taking me awhile to reliably 'hunt out tunnels' to generate enough golds.

Adding a trashing card makes it a lot more viable, it seems like.  I only played 6 solo games, so a simulation would be better.

Double Tactician could be quite fun with Crossroads, particularly if there's a victory-action or victory-treasure card in play.

Game Reports / Re: Dear My Opponent: I am Sorry

I introduced dominion to some of my relatives recently.   After a few intro set games, we played a base + seaside game where I crafted a council room/fishing village/militia engine (4p).   While not the cruelest engine, it had the 'hope given ... dashed' factor.  Eg, boosting their hands up to about 7-8 cards while I drew my entire deck, then forcing them to discard down to 3.  We made it through about 3 hands like this before there was a group rage quit. >:(

Needless to say, this was probably a poor choice for introducing beginners to dominion, but at least I was able to convince them to play again a few days later.  ;)

Quarry + Talisman is even more amusing when you add Border Village.

Quote
You play a Talisman, a Quarry, and 2 Coppers.
You buy a Border Village.
... You gain another Border Village.
... ... You gain a Laboratory.
... You gain a Laboratory.

The only downside is that quarry makes border village worth 4 & talisman/quarry costs remain 4 ... so you can't gain more talismans/quarries from border village.  This is a pretty minor drawback though, since those cards only cost $4.
