Hi,

I wish not create a new post, but what about:

Artificer + Watchtower

and or

Artificer + Library

Maybe great ?

Library:
Draw until you have 7 cards in hand. You may set aside any Action cards drawn this way, as you draw them; discard the set aside cards after you finish drawing.

Watchtower:
Draw until you have 6 cards in hand.
When you gain a card, you may reveal this from your hand. If you do, either trash that card, or put it on top of your deck.


Artificer:
+1 Action
+1 Card
+Coin1.png
Discard any number of cards. You may gain a card costing exactly Coin1.png per card discarded, putting it on top of your deck.

Hi,

I have find a card with Messsenger + Inn will be okay:

Counting House

So,

Two messenger, one in hand
Two counting house
(several coppers)

Play a village (can be Inn)
Play messenger, put your deck in discard pile
Play counting house, gets 11 coppers ( ... :( )
By a province and an inn.

Put the second messenger and the second counting house, and a village on top of your deck.


It works ?

messenger help to get severals coppers... :)

Hi everybody,

I think that Storyteller and Coin of the Realm shall be work perfectly together.

Coin of the Realm
When you play this, put it on your Tavern mat.Directly after resolving an Action, you may call this, for +2 Actions.

Because, play Storyteller with Coin.
  • Draw one card by Coin played.
  • Put Coin on the tavern mat
  • Play a terminal action
  • Call Coin from the tavern, and gets more action
  • Redo on next turn

Empty deck, YES but NO...

Because If your deck is empty, no treasure.
No treasure, no way to buy another card.
No way to buy, no victory card.
No victory card, no way to win...  ;D

Hi,

I will talk about Magpie.
I have seen a curious combo between Magpie and Watchtower.

Watchtower:

Draw until you have 6 cards in hand.
When you gain a card, you may reveal this from your hand. If you do, either trash that card, or put it on top of your deck.

Magpie:
+1 Card
+1 Action
Reveal the top card of your deck. If it's a Treasure, put it into your hand. If it's an Action or Victory card, gain a Magpie.

  • So, If the second card on the top of the deck is an action (or a victory) card
    • If you have one watchtower , two magpie in your hand
    • Else if you have one watchtower and one magpie in your hand and the top of the card is a magpie

You can receive all the other magpie present in the supply
  • Play a magpie
  • Draw a card, reveal the second card that is an action card
  • So get a magpie
  • Reveal watchtower, put the magpie on top of the deck
  • Play the magpie that you have draw (or the second that you have in your hand))
  • Draw the magpie and reveal yet an action card
  • Return to get the magpie until there is no magpie in the supply

It's a good way to start an engine or you can trash for benefit after all this magpie... To see...

Yet,
Magpie should work well with Harem:
Because If you reveal an Harem,
you would get a new magpie and draw the harem.

The problem with these plans is that you need $26, not $13 to get province every turn. Remember that the cards you have in play will not be placed on top of the deck by Inn. So you need $13 in play to buy Inn/province and $13 out of play to top deck.

Seems a little slow. An engine with this money would be triple provincing.

I don't remember exactly the rule for the Inn.
You have right (even If I will check on my French rule book later)

 :( So Inn doesn't work well with Messenger.
Bad news...

The Inn could be shuffle but not "played action card"...  :( :( :(

It can works with Village:


3 Poor House (+4 treasures) and 3 idiot village.
Play 3 times villages , Poor (+4) , Poor (+4) , Poor (+4) , Messenger (+2)

Or 4 actions that add 3 Treasures and 4 idiot village
Play 4 times villages, and 4 actions that gives 3 treasures like:

Or 6 actions that add 2 Treasures and 6 idiot village
Play 6 times villages, and 6 actions that gives 2 treasures like:

Village can be buy by the second effect of Messenger and why not the other card ?
Maybe too slow...

Hi,

I will talk about a new card present in Adventure set.
That's card is : Messenger.
The first thing that I have think when I see this card: combo with Inn (Auberge in French)

I introduce myself. I am a French casual player. I apologize for the wrong turns of phrase that I may be. I have in my collection Intrigue, Cornucopia and Hinterlands.

Back to the combo (or not ?) Messenger + Inn:

The first thing I think that :
  • I play Messenger
    Put my deck in my discard
    Buy a Province
    Buy an Inn

    Put 4 gold and messenger on deck (and redo)

It's really violent, but it doesn't work...  :(
Because Inn could only put Action card from discard.

Though, is that combination of these two cards is to throw ?

I think not...
First, you only needs to buy 1 Messenger
And to start the engines, to receives each turns that combo start to receive 1 Inn
Indeed, Messenger is a good card and Inn works with already other cards.

It's also important to see that there are two main possibilities:
  • Reach 13 treasures, buy province and inn
  • Reach 8 treasures, receives an Inn and buy a province (it works)

So let's talk about action cards that could complete the combo...
