I just don't understand this thing. What does "steamroll" mean?
 

I would reconsider the engine with 4 players, but with 3 players, if neither of your opponents go for the engine, you can steamroll them, so someone has to go for it.

I'm new to prosperity and tonight me and my friends played two of the recommended sets.
All the matches became really slow and particularly the "Friendly Interactive" ( Bishop, City, Contraband, Forge, Hoard, Peddler, Royal Seal, Trade Route, Vault, Worker's Village )
We took around 25 turns to end the colony game, so my question is: which is, in this case, the best strategy to apply?

You get +1 coin, +1 vp first, then get 4 vp from "half cost of peddler" for a total of 5 vp.

From the Bishop's wiki:

Bridge / Peddler / Quarry, because of the cost differential (buy a Peddler for 0 , trash it for +5 vp tokens )


The Peddler price is 8 so should not be +4 vp tokens?

There are some cards in Dominion that i really don't know how to play!
here there are the most difficult for me to play:

-Minion (it seems to me useless and expensive)
-Shanty town

In wich kind of deck i can use them?
Wich is the best strategy with these cards and their useful?

The first question will tell you if you are going for too many actions. There are many exceptions to this rule, but if you often find that you don't have enough actions to play your action cards, then you generally need either additional +action cards in your deck or fewer actions overall.

The second question is asking if those actions are working for you. This is much tougher to assess: there are some actions, like Militia, that don't improve your hand more than a silver would in their place, but they do hurt your opponent. There are lots of other situations where an action card will improve your hand, but having a different card for that same cost would have been even more useful. But by looking at how much better your hand becomes when you play certain actions, you can hopefully start to see which actions are contributing towards your strategy and which aren't giving you the most value.

That is what happened at 99% of games that i have already played! (also because i'm playing this game only from a little bit time and i'm also looking for good combos that I try every match)
I anyway felt the absence of more money and the presence of too many action cards.

hi to everyone i'm new. i write from italy and i play Dominion from one month ago with my friends.
last night a friend played only with Big Money and he won 3/3 games!
so i start posting on this forum with a simple question that is: big money is the best strategy ever?
how could players beat it?

i know that the basically strategies are often:
+actions --> +cards/+buy
or
+cards -->money

but unfortunally big money works always better...
