Game Reports / Re: Countering the rebuild

I have a hard time believing Minion could compete with Rebuild on many boards. I also highly doubt it's ever worth buying an IGG in a Rebuild strategy; giving one Curse once is not comparable to non-terminal +~2.5VP.

Me, I'll bank on the Minions from now on in a straight-up matchup.  With IGG in the mix, I don't know, though.  Watno is right that your opponent played Rebuild really poorly.

Reading my gamelog again, I agree he played it poorly. He should indeed have turned provinces into provinces and I would have stood no chance...

Dominion General Discussion / Re: Saboteur

Lost a game 2 days ago where key, cards were: chapel, lab, bazaar, saboteur, tournament, swindler, colony.
Having a very short vision, I decided to go for a fast tournament + province + labs support (terminal swindler), without trashing my deck, since I thought that prizes could not be swindled (which , as I later read, is wrong).
My opponent went for very heavy trashing and after 11 turns or so his deck consisted of 2 saboteurs, labs and bazaars and he kept drawing his deck every turn. Since there was no + buy I could only buy one card and he could trash 2 each turn. Being trapped, I resigned.

In short: Saboteur can be very good if u have a reliable engine where you can play saboteur as a terminal every turn.

Game Reports / Countering the rebuild

This is one of the best games I have ever played.

Important cards : IGG, Forge, Rebuild, Noble brigand.
Seeing the Forge on the board, I realise that a IGG rush might be useless. Also, vs rebuild IGG doesn't win either. However, when I see my opponent going for rebuild I realise he'll never hit 7 again to buy a forge so I combine IGG, some duchies, some money and a noble brigand to keep his gold low and let him focus pure on rebuild to win the game.  He gets stuck with an empty duchy pile , low money deck and trashes his estates for other estates. I buy the IGG's and last provinces and win.

All feedback welcome!

Game Reports / From hero to zero

Hi all,

This must be the worst game my opponent ever had. Board contains alchemist, highway, pirate ship, ghost ship, bishop and knights and some other cards.
I try to build up a "in your ass" engine while my opponent goes for regular cards to fast province.
As soon as he hits up 3 provinces and gets an expand (to expand all his 5coin cards) I am doubting about resigning.
Until suddenly my engine starts working, I draw my whole deck every hand and my opponent gets:
- Knighted 3 times per turn
- ghostshipped.

I buy + bishop a gold every turn.

I realise I made some mistakes here and all feedback is welcome.
