I never play Sea Hags after the Curses are gone. No real reason, I just don't.
It's a refreshing change to not play an action in hand for once.

It's interesting that, with the exception of cards that give +1 Buy, none of the Hinterlands cards really combo well with Highway. As I see it, the main advantage of Highway over Bridge is that you can chain a few before playing Feast/Workshop/Ironworks/Saboteur/Smugglers/University/Horn of Plenty without having to buy and activate a big +Actions/+Cards engine first.
It's definitely a card that would feel more at home in prosperity.

Dominion General Discussion / Re: How do You Play Golem?
« on: October 24, 2011, 12:16:11 am »
Counting House? That was the first thing to come to your mind for a combo? I mean, I guess as Golem looks for actions, it will knock a few coppers into your discard, but that's hardly a thing to rely on, especially since Counting House doesn't stack with itself, so that having any more than one in your deck would be a liability (think Golem-> CH, CH). Golem is for playing powerful actions consistently. The only scenario in which I could see Counting House being paired well with Golem is if you had Goons and/or Worker's Village, plus Gardens, and maybe Chancellor as well.
it's a specific combo with a single counting house and a bunch of golems and no other actions, where the golem hits the counting house and then unsuccessfully searches for another action, thereby discarding your whole deck and allowing you to play every single copper you have every time you play a golem.

I think I played the most pleasant and fast sea hag game I've ever had just a bit ago.

Oasis is a fun little soft-counter to sea hag.

I'm always a little insulted when my opponent vetoes treasure map on a board where clearly any halfway decent player is not going to buy treasure map.
It's like playing an 11 card board. Think of it that way.

Dominion Articles / Re: Request: Diadem
« on: August 20, 2011, 02:04:22 am »
If you happen to have an Ironworks in your deck and you've been slowly gathering an inane amount of villages throughout the game, then Diadem could be worth it (assuming you have the +buys to really make it work for you), or need the diadem immediately to buy a province. Otherwise, better to just grab the Dutchy or a more reliable prize.

King's Court and City helps quite a bit too.
you shouldn't have bought the ironworks in the first place if you're just getting villages with it. I can see that happening in a gardens game though.

Dominion General Discussion / Re: I have a problem

The leaderboard is part of the problem I think. Too much pressure to win and not just play for fun. I see my registered but unlevelled friends sign in and despair that my ranking will go down if I lose. Now that really is a sad condition!

Of course your ranking goes down if you lose. It also goes up if you win. That's kind of the point.

Why would that stop you from playing your friends? Do you play less competitively when you're playing your friends or something?
I'm pretty sure that losing against someone 20 levels below you hurts your ranking more then losing to someone 20 levels above you in trueskill.

I'd be fine with the whole idea if you could invite people who might not necessarily be willing to pay for it to play with you.

Right now Isotropic's super good for playing dominion with people I know online. A paid version would kinda ruin that whole aspect.

Right now Isotropic's super bad for RGG making money out of a product that they own. A paid version would kinda fix that whole aspect.
A paid version with absolutely nobody playing on it.

It's marginally better then a village, and the difference between 3 and 4 cost cards is pretty minimal anyway, and it reduces the risk of multiple conflicting terminal actions better then a more vanilla village would.
