And Travelling Fair still costs $6.

Other than that, pretty neat. I don't often use random kingdoms but if I do this would be the best way to get them.

I've always had mixed feelings towards Treasury. On the one hand the perspective is weird as all get out; on the other it's very distinct and fits the card name very well. Plus Treasury has been one of my favorite cards from the beginning.

Blue Balls Seven - $7
Treasure
When you play this card, if you have exactly $7 in play, $1. Otherwise, while this is in play, your $ is set to $7, regardless of all other modifiers.

...For humor's sake, how does playing two of these cards resolve?

I think since the first one is still in play, you get your $8, but it immediately becomes $7.  But if you Procession it, I'm not so sure.  I guess it would constantly check itself to see whether it's in play, so it would check before Procession had a chance to trash it.

The real thing to do is to spam +buys, though.  Nothing fancy - just Market Square or maybe some Squires and/or Goons.

You mean Counterfeit?

The artist drew a sketch of a wizard in a forest shooting out a stream of butterflies. I said looks good. Then he did another sketch, the woman in that place, conjuring the weird thing from Transmogrify. I said well it's fine but I also liked the first sketch. Then he did a polished version. I said well the weird thing is weird and mentioned the butterflies again. He replaced it with a butterfly.

I assumed it was "summon" as in "the king summons you" not "summon" as in "Summon Greater Fish." Now that you mention it the card art makes more sense.

Can we get an official ruling on the gender of the person in the red robe in the middle of the card?

Apprentice is the only card that cares about the Potion cost of a card.

I know this was posted pre-Guilds, so it wouldn't take Stonemason into account, but don't cards like Remodel, etc. also factor in Potion cost?

That said, I don't know of any other cards that do something slightly different for the Potion cost of a card, nor specify in the card text.

So I play 2P RL games with my wife, and we take turns choosing the kingdom. Whether to use Plats and Colonies or not, and whether to use estates or shelters to start, is just one of the decisions made by the person choosing the kingdom cards. I think we end up in a lobster/steak situation because we pull them out maybe 1/10 of the time. I mean, it was awesome that one game when I had $33 and 3 buys and there were 3 colonies left in the supply, but every game being like that would be tedious.

tl;dr do whatever you want. It's fun!

You gain the thing that the Border Village borders.

Why, literally, does it take a potion to buy a vineyard?

I've taught a bunch of people - but I only recently got the original game, so only once have I played with the "first game" kingdom.

Next time I want to be much more specific in the whole "you get 1 action, you show all your treasures when you are in your buy phase, etc." aspect. My stepmother-in-law still has a tendency to put all her actions down at once and let us be the ones to tell her what order to play them in.

(Of course, the last game we played, she opened Squire/Duchy and won so I dunno.)

The farmland is so rich and fertile that everything you plant will grow as something better, even rats.

Why, literally, are peddlers cheaper the more actions you have in play?

You know how cats sometimes bring you dead animals as a "gift?" Well, rats are sort of the opposite; when they die, they present their own corpse as a present.

Why do Mined cards go into your hand, literally?

213
I played a IRL 3P game once that was no fun - I don't really remember the details except that the only trasher was Spice Merchant and there were no villages. Other than that even a bad game of Dominion beats anything else I play.

I've been reading all these card names in Homsar's voice.

The problem I have with fortress is that somtimes you use it only for the on-trash effect, sometimes only for the village… not as often both. So overall, it feels like a "patchwork" for me.

Well, the Bishop/Fortress combo requires it to be both.

So I wasn't TOO far off I guess . . .

Here's a whacky one

It would be a pain to keep track of IRL, but potentially interesting.

Would it be an Action/Treasure type?

Do you think there's any chance you would sell a pack of just blank cards (so people could make a whole kingdom out of their own fan cards, or whatever)?

223
If I intentionally try bending my sleeved cards, I can notice the difference; but during the course of normal gameplay I don't handle my cards in a way that would make it at all obvious.

. . . at any rate, while Oracle, Fortune Teller, and Soothsayer are attack cards, they aren't necessarily negative references.

Maybe his wife caught cold and for the first time in his life he goes for groceries. Naturally, the guy feels a bit nervous about it.
As much as I want to believe this, I sense malicious intent by the way he is holding his sword. Envoy looks the most like a guy sent grocery shopping for the first time. He even has the grocery list with him.

He also looks really, really confused by it.

"What the . . . feminine hygiene products?"
