Title: Goko has Market Square with On-Trash Drawing Wrong?
Post by: scott_pilgrim on June 18, 2013, 03:39:47 am
I recently played a game in which I opened Remake/Market Square.  Turn 3 I drew Remake, Overgrown Estate, and 3 Coppers.  I play Remake, trash Overgrown Estate, draw a card because I trashed Overgrown Estate, and hey that card is Market Square.  I get excited because now I can reveal Market Square, so I eagerly click on it to discard and gain a Gold...but it trashes it instead, as the second card trashed from Remake.  Goko never gave me an opportunity to reveal Market Square.

This is incorrect, right?  I should be able to reveal it, even though I drew it from the trashed Overgrown Estate?

Yes, I think you're correct.

I'd say the implementation is correct, though I'm far from an expert on the rules.

When you draw the card, the trashing has been resolved so you can no longer reveal Market Square in response to it. You can, however, trash a second card and reveal MS in response to that.

it is indeed wrong. both discarding the market square for gold and drawing a card happen "when trashing", so you can choose the order. I'm pretty sure Donald confirmed that somewhere as well.

the key comes from the fact that remake has you trashing twice sequentially as opposed to trashing two cards simultaneously.

Not quite. This is only the reason he is able to trash the drawn Market Square.

Revealing a drawn Market Square (by OG or also Cultist for example) should be possible even for Chapel or other trashers.

no, it has nothing to with that (except that it was possible to trash the market square). you can discard a market square after trashing overgrown estate with any card.
Edit: ninjaed.

Did anyone reported that on Getsatisfaction?

Unfortunately, in order to fix this, they'll probably need to add an interface for choosing the order of simultaneous effects. They have shown zero interest/progress on this front.

Although I thought this particular interaction (Market Square) used to work correctly on Goko. Am I misremembering?

I thought it did, but I'm not sure. Maybe it's an Overgrown Estate bug, specifically. Or a Remake bug.
