So you pick 25 Dominion cards that you have, and then play with those 25 as if they were a standalone - you play games using a random 10 out of those 25. You pick the 25 with some theme in mind, although if your theme is just "stuff I like" that's fine. Here are some examples.
Interaction Mix
2: Duchess, Embargo, Fool's Gold
3: Forager, Masquerade, Smugglers, Swindler, Trade Route, Watchtower
4: Bishop, Gardens, Noble Brigand, Throne Room, Tournament
5: City, Council Room, Cultist, Embassy, Governor, Graverobber, Jester, Knights, Tribute, Vault
6: Border Village
This one just focuses on player interaction. It's bound to be a pip, so I put it first.
Top o' the Deck Mix
2: Beggar, Courtyard, Herbalist, Vagrant
3: Lookout, Swindler, Watchtower, Wishing Well
4: Armory, Bureaucrat, Ironmonger, Nomad Camp, Scavenger, Scout, Spy, Walled Village, Wandering Minstrel
5: Ghost Ship, Graverobber, Knights, Mandarin, Mystic, Royal Seal, Stash, Treasury
Lots of cards interact with deck tops, and sometimes they naturally work together.
Hand Theme
2: Beggar, Crossroads, Hamlet
3: Hermit, Menagerie, Oasis, Tunnel, Warehouse, Watchtower
4: Fortress, Horse Traders, Remake, Tournament, Young Witch
5: Count, Embassy, Explorer, Horn of Plenty, Inn, Library, Mine, Pillage, Rabble
6: Hunting Grounds
8: Peddler
Cornucopia tried on a hand theme, but abandoned it because it's just invisible. The cards played well together though, so here's the kind of thing you can get with that theme.
Villageless
2: Courtyard, Embargo
3: Loan, Market Square, Wishing Well
4: Militia, Monument, Remodel, Spice Merchant, Spy, Trader
5: Apprentice, Count, Duke, Ill-Gotten Gains, Laboratory, Library, Merchant Ship, Rogue, Royal Seal, Upgrade, Vault, Venture
6: Fairgrounds, Hoard
Do you need a Village for a fun game? This set tries to argue otherwise. There was a lot of room for varying this one, since hey, most cards aren't Villages.
Big Alchemy
P: Vineyard, Transmute, Apothecary, Scrying Pool, University, Alchemist, Familiar, Philosopher's Stone, Golem, Possession
2: Cellar, Herbalist
3: Great Hall
4: Conspirator, Coppersmith, Ironworks, Procession, Wandering Minstrel
5: Apprentice, Haggler, Horn of Plenty, Inn, Jester, Library, Stables
Alchemy was once a large set. What might it look like as one? This isn't trying to look like the original large Alchemy, but rather just to push Alchemy's themes with the additional cards.

Hi there, Donald, cool idea and no offense, but as with any variants, I think one should play the game as the game designer intended it to be played.

I am sure this was in jest. Some people don't like variants. Although, this technically isn't a variant at all because you can pick kingdoms any way you'd like. And that makes it even cooler.

I thought about it a few minutes later. Feel free to insert Coppersmith in place of Hermit/Madman.

Festival! Anybody who is anybody is here!
2- squire, duchess, beggar
3- village, ambassador, scheme, urchin
4- tournament, feast, baron, procession, wandering minstrel
5- duke, knights, festival, tribute, horn of plenty, jester, embassy, mandarin, counIt, rogue
6- fairgrounds, nobels
The Bishop and the Margrave aren't there! And some nice locations for this party could include Gardens and Monument. Maybe Menagerie.
Thought about them both. Margrave is like a commander of the guard, so I didn't think he fit with the festival. Bishop was better, but not as noble-like as I was going for. (Steward is also not there)
I had locations too. Monument got cut. As did Courtyard.
The other option is to turn it away from the tournament-festival and more into a market-festival: add market, grand market, peddler, trader, trading post, etc.

But Urchin and Rogue fit? Aren't they criminals? Beggar is alright. :P

Rats!
P: Vineyard, Scrying Pool, Familiar
2: Squire
3: Forager, Watchtower, Develop, Masquerade, Ambassador, Hermit
4: Rats,Death Cart, Salvager, Trader, Fortress, Bishop, Feodum, Jack of All Trades, Ironmonger
5: Upgrade, Junk Dealer, Apprentice, Graverobber, Cultist, Governor
EDIT:
Some unintentional combos I noticed:
*Trader/Squire/Jack of All Trades + Feodum
*Bishop/Fortress, Apprentice/Fortress
*Watchtower+Squire/Feodum
It's a very combo heavy set overall.

Green Machine

Urchin is one of the poor kids hanging around the festival/tournament.
Rogue is a knight without a master. Likely competing in the tournament.
(kind of like a Ronin to a Samurai?)

That's not the definition of Rogue that I know. I can buy that Urchin fits though.

This evening I played 4 three-player IRL games randomly drawn from the following somewhat autumn-themed set of 25. It was a lot of fun (and much easier to transport than all of my cards)!
Promotional Cornucopia
$2: Hamlet, Fool's Gold
$3: Black Market, Fortune Teller, Menagerie, Oasis, Tunnel
$4: Envoy, Walled Village, Farming Village, Horse Traders, Remake, Tournament, Young Witch, Nomad Camp
$5: Governor, Stash, Harvest, Horn of Plenty, Hunting Party, Jester, Embassy, Duke
$6: Fairgrounds, Border Village
For the Black Market deck, we used one of each of the Base Dominion cards. This actually worked out really well because reading the simple, familiar cards was very quick and did not slow the game down too much.
The kingdoms were (I think):
Game 1: Black Market, Fortune Teller, Oasis, Farming Village, Tournament, Horse Traders, Hunting Party, Harvest, Stash, Border Village
Game 2: Hamlet, Black Market, Nomad Camp, Tournament, Envoy, Walled Village, Horse Traders, Harvest, Jester, Hunting Party
Game 3: Hamlet, Tunnel, Menagerie, Oasis, Young Witch (Fool's Gold is Bane), Envoy, Horse Traders, Horn of Plenty, Duke, Jester
Game 4: Fool's Gold, Tunnel, Menagerie, Fortune Teller, Remake, Farming Village, Envoy, Young Witch (Hamlet is bane), Horn of Plenty, and Hunting Party
Game 1 was the least fun. Games 2 and 3 were good, and the last game with Remake moved along quite quickly, was the closest, and was fun. I started out getting Golds from Tunnel, cleaning up with Remake, then set up a mega turn buying three Provinces and gaining one via HOP to win by a little.

I -think- (based on ASoIaF, though) that knight without a master is called a "hedge knight". Rogue is an outlaw.
