i play veto mode most of the time, so it's no surprise to me that people don't like, say, tournament (ugh. tournament.) but i'm always surprised that no one else vetoes embassy.

Moat.

Rebuild!

Rebuild!
Didn't we have a Rebuild game several months ago? That seems to ring a bell. Maybe I'm thinking of the Storeroom game.
On topic, I'd put Governor and Goons in this category, although I've learned to hate Governor a bit less.
-
Militia. I just don't like having less cards in hand, ever.
-
I also don't like Rebuild, because I seem to lose when I don't buy it and to lose when I do.
I have a similar, but milder, problem with Remodel.

That was Storeroom. I remember that game. It was on a Duke board.
-
Hunting Party is a big one. It's awful, I hate it.
Mountebank as well. Random AND extremely powerful. Sure, a better player can still use it better, but ugh.
-
Since when do people not hate Mountebank? :P

With Hoard, right. You went Mine and I went Storeroom. That was an interesting game.
So, why don't you like Rebuild?

I like Mountebank. It's the discarding attacks I hate. And I include Ghost Ship in that category.
-
Minion.
I know its probably selective perception, but my opponents always play it for the discard when I have a good hand, and never when I have a crappy one. It's just so unfun.
-

Since it got 69th in the best card ratings, which is top half.
-
Outpost. I've rarely seen it give a tactical advantage to anyone. I veto randomly, since i don't hate it enough to specifically veto it, but I never buy it on iso... giving it a high win rate when available ranking on councilroom. presumably because other players buy it and lose. ( I feel that the councilroom stats aren't multivariate (aka not taking into account all the cards on the board)).

I also tend to not like Minion, but thought it wasn't well liked.
Personally, I hate Smugglers, probably because of not knowing the times to go for it :P

The cards I hate that no one else seems to are Chapel and King's Court. They both take a whole pile of finesse out of engine building. I like the messy engines which make do with Trading Post for trashing support.
-
Signature related.
-
Militia and Goons are two I dislike playing with. Ghost Ship doesn't bother me as much. Scrying Pool and Alchemist are two of my favorites though.
-
Ghost ship kills me. It really, really does. I think it bugs its fair share of people but I just cannot seem to wrap my head around that card.

Seconded.
I'm also terrible at Goons.
-
Native Village and Talisman.
They're just blind spots for me. I mean, I get them, but I have a feeling I buy them way less than I should.
-
I'd have to say Hoard. There are a few reasons...
1) I always seem to draw it in a hand with $7 total, meaning if I'd gotten a Gold instead I could have had a Province!
2) If my opponent gets it in their first Province-buying hand and I don't, they're more likely to get another Province-buying hand the next time their Hoard comes up than I am (slight unstable equilibrium).
3) It makes for those trollsy "get-your-hopes-up-then-crush-them" moments when playing in Iso, i.e.
Your opponent plays a Silver and 2 Coppers.

Your opponent plays a Hoard.
Your opponent plays a Hoard.
Your opponent buys a Province.
... gaining a Gold.

I see this sort of argument a lot for certain cards, but there isn't supposed to be an equilibrium. It's a deck building game. If you play your cards right (pun intended), then you ought to be increasing the strength of your future hands (at least relative to your opponents' future hands, or else increasing your score).

Wharf. And to a lesser extent Bridge (which at least needs some support), for the snowballing and sick first-player advantage.
-
Farmland, Smugglers, and Fool's Gold. The first two because they're overrated / I don't understand how to use them, the third because it seems to often lead to boring games.

I don't like Rebuild because I am starting to think it is very luck dependant. I am now much better at playing it, but almost all games that I lose to low ranked players on Goko are Rebuild games. To be honest, I am starting to think it is better than Mountebank and Witch at $5. It is so fast!, and often, you can ignore the curser and win. I've had that happen to me before, twice! I went for the curser, my opponent goes for Rebuild, and Rebuild is so fast, and just skips over the curses! It doesn't matter how clogged your deck is. I think I ranked it fourth on Qvist's list, but if I went back, I would put it at number 1.

Farmland is overrated?
Anyway, I have to go with Alchemist. I always buy it when it's going to be too slow and I always ignore it when it's going to be dominant. And I've made the "Alchemists all gone, might as well trash this useless potion" mistake more times than I care to admit.
-
Yeah, Alchemist for me too. Uninteresting and boring.

I'll agree that Rebuild is quite indifferent to most Attack cards, which in itself is quite powerful. I wonder how often it beats a good engine without Attacks, though. It can be quite fast, and if you reach a mega-turn with your engine, there won't be many Duchies left to buy. It's hard to say.

oh man i love farmland

Someone else's least favorite card that other people seem to like:
I find council room so distasteful!
Forge!!!: why?
I couldn't bare the though of giving you cards
for free?!
but, sadly, sometimes council room will win
as it has today
Forge!!!: often times, in fact
what a mighty triumph!
Forge!!!: it is a good card
nah
worst card
I've never heard of Council Room called "distasteful" before. And shockingly, playing an engine centered around Library isn't a great idea against an opponent playing 2/3 council rooms per turn.
